HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1031RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. /o S A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECh^RING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE PORTIONS OF SANTA FE AVENUE AND bALTON AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AND DETER- MINING ERAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. ✓i The Council of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Azusa to girder the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit: FIRST• That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be constructed along each line of the roadway of said Santa Fe Avenue between the center line of Alameda Avenue and the center line of Dalton Avenue; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which a cem ent sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plan No. 1073. SECOND: • That a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of said Santa Fe Avenue between the center line of Alameda Avenue and the Center line of Dalton Avenue; except along such portions of said Santa Fe Avenue upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plan No. 1073. • THIRD: That oiled macadam pavement three (3) inches in depth and of a width of fourteen (14) feet be constructed along each line of the existing pavement (twenty (20) feet wide) of said Dalton Avenue between the northerly line of Santa Fe Avenue and the north line of Foothill Boulevard; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which oiled macadam pavement already exists and is to the official line and grade in accordance with, and where shown upon the improvement plan No. 1073. FOURTH: That oiled macadam pavement three (3( inches in depth and of a width of eight (8) feet be constructed along each line of the existing pavement (twenty (20) feet wide) of said Santa Fe Avenue between the center line of Alameda Avenue and the center line of Dalton Avenue; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which oiled macadam pavement already exists and is to the • /fir official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plan No. 1073. FIFTH: That trees be planted along each line of the roadway of Dalton Avenue between the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue and the north line of Foothill Boulevard, as shown on the Map of Azusa; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which trees have already been planted and now are to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon improvement plan No. 1075'. SIXTH: That trees be planted along the southerly line of the roadway of said Santa F Avenue from the east line of Alameda Avenue to the west line of Dalton Avenue; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which trees have already been planted and now are to the 'official line -and grade in accordance with and where shown upon improvement plan No. 1073.' lv /" 3 . Ar 0 0 - 0 0 0 SEVENTH: That ten (10) inch drain tile shall be constructed at the intersections of Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue with Santa Fe Avenue, as shown on improvement plan No. 1073. All of the streets and Avenues above described are shorn on the Map of Azusa, as recorded in Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous Records of Las Angeles County. That all of the aforesaid work and imprwvement is to be constructed at the grades shown on and in accordance with plans No. 1073 on file in the office of the City Engineer and in accordance with Specifications Nos. 1055-A, 1055-B, and 1055c:T, and 1073"0 on file in the office of the City Clerk and said plans and Specifications are hereby referred to for the full and detailed description of said work or improvement and for the description of the grades at which the work shall be done. SECTION 2. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate of seven (7 %) percent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "IIvIPROVELiENT BOND ACT OF 191.5", the last installment of which bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of July next succedding ten (10) months from their date. SECTION 3. All of said work shall be done in accordance . with the plans and specifications heretofore ddopted for doing said work and, now on file as aforesa' Notice is hereby given that on ,, the 3-?2r�t day of , 1927, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. , in the Council Chamber of the Council of said City, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. The Clerk shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be pub- lished twice in the Ponotropic, a weekly newspaper of. general circulation, published and circulated in said City and hereby designated for that purpose by the City Council, there beir_g no daily newspaper published in said City. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement in front of all the property liable to be assessed, notices of -the passage of this Resolution of Intention in time, form, and manner rqquired by law. Except as hereinabove otherwise provided for the issuance of said serial bonds, all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California„ designated the "IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and amendments thereto.
