HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 17, 1923 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, September 17th, 1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Trustee: Meier. The minutes of the regular meetings held Sept. 4th and 6th and the regular adjourned meeting held Sept. 7th, 1923 were read and approved as read. Itwas moved that the Superintendent of Light and Water be authorized to purchase the following supplies: 20 5 amp light meters. Water pipe fittings not to exceed $75.00 Carried by the following vote: Ayes. Trustees: Moon, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: Meier. On motion duly carried F. W. Zerrell was granted a two weeks vacation commencing October let, 1923. It was moved that the City Marshal be instructed to purchase window shades for his office. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: Meier. The following Ordinance was presented: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTIONS I AND II OF ORDINANCE NO. 196 OF SAID CITY ENTITLED:'AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 178 OF SAID CITY ENTITLED:"AN ORD- INANCE.OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING THE RATE TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR WATER AND WATER CONNECTIONS,' ETC., ADOPTED MAY 29, 1916, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 189 OF SAID CITY ADOPTED NOVEMBER 20, 1917," ADOPTED JULY 21, 1919. It was moved that the same be taken up for its first 'reading. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Chenoweth, Case, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: Meier. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the same be taken up for its second reading. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Chenoweth, Case, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: Meier. The Ordinance was read. On motion duly carried the Ordinance was dellared read for the second time and taken up for its third read- ing and final passage. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Chenoweth, Case, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: Meier. The President of the Board of Trustees and the City Clerk were authorized to sign the pipe line license as presented by the Santa Fe Railway. It was moved that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, ,Chenoweth, Case, Pierce. Noes: None.
