HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1020REST LUTION NO. �a o A RESOLUTION OF TIS: CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LZUSA ORDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE DONE ON PORTIONS OF ORANGE AVENUE, ELEVENTIi AND TENTH STREETS ITS THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. The Council of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: % SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Azusa deems it to be required by the public interest and convenience and hereby orders: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width and a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of Orange Avenue, of Eleventh Street and of Tenth Street; and that trees be planted along each line of the roadway of said Orange Avenue, Eleventh Street and Tenth Street; all of said work to be done between the limits described in Resolution of Intention No. 1003, and as shown on Plans No. 1064, 1055, and 1056, m d as des- cribed in said resolution; and all other work or improvement described in Resolution of Intention No. 1003, being the Resolu- tion of Intention for said work or improvement, in the manner and within the limits designated in ssi d resolution, and re- ference is hereby made to said resolution for a further and more complete description of said work or improvement, and the description of said work or improvement, in said resolution contained, is hereby expressly adopted and made a part hereof the same as though fully set forth herein. SECTION2. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven(7) per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner probided by the "IMPROVEMENT SOLID ACT OF 1915" the • last installment of which bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of July next succeeding ten (/.o) months from their date. SECTION 3. That the proceedings for tie aforesaid improve- ment shall be had and taken under an act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled"An act to provide for work upon streets, lanes, alleys, courts, places, and sidewalks, and for the construction of sewers within municipalities," approved March 18, 1885 (commonly knotm as the Vrooman Act), and under all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall publish notice of said work or improvement inviting sealed proposals or bar's for doing said work as improvement, and refeering to the specifications posted or a file for trio(2) weeks in the Pomotropic; and shall • post said notice with specifications, conspicuously for five days on or near the chamber door of the City Council, and shall require in said notice a certified check or a bond, either, as perscribed by law, and for an amount not .less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate of the proposal. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published for two (2) weeks in the Pomotropic and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
