A RESOLUTION OF THE OAR- F—TRiJSWES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
,DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF
IIALAMEDA, DALTON, AND SANTA FE AVENUES, AND SIXTH STREET, AND DE-
IICLARING THAT THE IMPROVEMENT IS TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORD-
INARY PUBLIC BENEFIT, AND THAT THE COST OF fxhE SAID IMPROVEMENT
SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRIET, AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS
(SHALL BEISSUED TO,REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF.

The Beag4-e�Trusteas of the City of Azusa do resolve as

!' Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require)
Band that it is the intention of the Board of Trubtees of the City I
lof Azusa to order the following work to be done, to -wit:

First: That sixteen (16) ornamental lighting posts shall be
11constructed along the east side of Alameda Avenue between the north
I'
aline of Fifth Street and the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, and
(that sixteen (16) ornamental lighting posts be constructed along the
�lwest line of Alameda Avenue between the north line of Fifth Street
:and the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, together with the con-
11struction in said Alameda Avenue between the north line of Fifth
Street and the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue of certain con-
duits, cables, wires, lamps, and appliances for the purpose of light-
ing with electricity, all that portion of, said Alameda Avenue
above described.
Second: That one (1) ornamental lighting post be constructed)
along the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue between the east line of
Alameda Avenue and the west line of Dalton Avenue, and that three
(3) ornamental lighting posts be constructed along the northerly
line of Santa Fe Avenue between the west line of Alameda Avenue
and the east line of Dalton Avenue, together with the construction
in said Santa Fe Avenue between the west line of Alameda Avenue
and the east line of Dalton Avenue of certain conduits, cables,
wires, lamps, and appliances for the purpose of lighting with
electricity, all that portion of said Santa Fe Avenue above des-
cribed.
Third: That sixteen (16) ornamental lighting posts shall be
constructed along the east side of Dalton Avenue between the north
line of Fifth Street and the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, and

the west side of Dalton Avenue between the north line of Fifth Strett
land the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, together with the cons-

!truction in said Dalton Avenue between the northerly line of Fifth
•'Street and the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue of certain con-
lduits, cables, wires, lamps, and appliances for the purpose of light-
ing with electricity, all that portion of said Dalton Avenue above
described.
Fourth. That one (1) ornamental lighting post shall be con -
structed along the north line of Sixth Street between the east line
of Alameda Avenue and the west line of Dalton Avenue and that one
(1) ornamental lighting post be constructed along the south line
of Sixth Street between the east line of Alameda Avenue and the
west line of Dalton Avenue, together with the construction in said
Sixth Street between the east line of Alameda Avenue and the west
'line of Dalton Avenue of certain condgits, cables, wires, lamps,
and appliances for the purposeof lighting with electricity, all
that portion of said Sixth Street above described.
Fifth; That in connection with the systen for lighting the
aforesaid portions of Alameda Avenue, Santa Fe Avenue, Dalton Ave-
nue, and Sixth Street, a transformer, a cutout box, certain con- F
duits, cables, and other appurtenances and appurtenant work be i
constructed in Sixth Street between the center line of Alameda
Avenue and a line parallel with the easterly line of Alameda Ave-
nue and six and three tenths (6.3) feet easterly therefrom.
That said ornamental lighting posts shall be of Ferronite
cast iron and that on all portions of streets and alleys above
set forth the work to be done shall include all excavation,,and
the removal of all existing pavement, gutter, curb, sidewalk
and other improvements made necessary by the work of installation
to be done hereunder and all resurfacing of pavement, and re-
placement of gutters, curbs, sidewalks and other improvements
made necessary by such removal together with work appurtenant
to or incidental to any of the foregoing described items, also i

all other work and improvement shown on the plans and specifi-
�,cations hereinafter designated. That all of the aforesaid
work and improvement is to be constructed at the grades shown
on and in accordance with plans numbered 1065, 1065-B, 10660
1067, 1071 and 1072 on file in the office of the City Engineer
11 and in accordance with Specifications No. / 4 69E on file in the
office of the City Clerk and said plans and specifications are
hereby referred to for the full and detailed description of said
work or improvement and for the description of the grades at
which the work shall be done.
Section 2. AND, WBFAREAS, said contemplated work and
improvement, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit, said Board of Trustees here
makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon
a district, which district said Board hereby declares to be the
district benefited by said work and improvement, and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which said district is
bounded and described as follows;

Beginning at the southwest corner of lot 24 of Block 45
it of the City of Azusa as shown on Map of Azusa recorded in Book 15,
ipage 93, miscellaneous records of Los Angeles County, thence
II northerly in a direct line to the point of intersection of the

southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue and the east line of the alley
in Block 29 of said City as shown on said map, thence easterly
IIin a direct line to the northeast corner of lot 31 of Block 29,
thence northerly along the west line of Alameda Avenue to the
point of its intersection with the northerly line of right of way'
of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad, thence easterly
along said right of way line to the point of its intersection
with the east line of Dalton Avenue, thence south in a direct
line to the northwest corner of lot 22 of Block 18 (of said map),'
thence easterly in a direct line to the north east corner of said
22, thence south in a direct line to the southeast corner of lot
24 of Block 47 (of said map), thence westerly in a direct line to
the point of beginning, to -wit: southwest corner of lot 24 of
IBlook 45 (of said map).
Section 3. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to re-
present unpaid assessments, and bearing interest at the rate of
•leaven (7) percent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner

provided by the"Improvement Act of 1915", the last installment of
which bonds shall mature fourteen years from the second day of
(duly nest succeeding ten months from their date.
Section 4. Reference is hereby made to license agreement
!of Western Lighting Company for price on King Company's Ferronite �
'ornamental lighting posts to be installed hereunder and for price
`hof General Electric Company's lighting units to be installed

• hereunder. Said license agreement is on file in the office of the
City Clerk and is dated July 25th -1927,
Section 5. Notice is hereby given that on Monday,the 2.2
day of -0,�F 1927, at 7:30 P.M. in the council
chamber of the Board of Trustees of said City, and and all persons
• having any objections to the proposed work or improvement or to
the extent of the district to be assessed or both may appear
,before said boardand show cause why said proposed improvement should
not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.
The Clerk shall cause this Resolution N of Intention to be

I'published twice in the Pomotropi¢, a weekly nevi paper published
i
'and circulated in said city and hereby designated for that pur-
pose by the Board of Trustees, there being no daily newspaper in said
• city.
The Street Superintendedt shall cause this resolution to
be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work
'and improvement and along all the open streets within said district
bove described notices of the passage of this Resolution of Int-
ention, in the time, form and manner required by law.
Except as hereinbefore otherwise provided for the issuance
of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done

pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California
designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911,
and amendments thereto.
