HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1004RESOLUTION N0. / O ° ie - 0 . _ A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING THE WORK AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE MADE AS DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0, 995 FOR THE IMPROVE'MT OF PORTIONS OF ORANGE, SUNSET, AND ANGELENO • AVENUES, AND VISTA BONITA AND ELEVENTH STREETS IN SAID CITY: WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa did on the day of _, 1927, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 995 to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said City which Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of W. N. Barnard, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and whereas, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No. 995 headed "Notice of Improvement" wereduly and legally posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor,.and on and along each and every open street and high- way in the assessment district described in said Resolution of Intention, in time, form, manner and number as required by law, after the passage of said completion of the posting of said notices, forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the 7th day of July, 1927; and whereas, all protests or objections presented have been heard and disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law, and said Board of Trustees having now'acquired juris- diction to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby 5 RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described and the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa hereby orders the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City to -wit: That a total of twenty-four (24) ornamental lighting poets shall be constructed upon Orange, Sunset, and Angeleno Avenues, and upon Vista Bonita and Eleventh Streets within the limits of said Tract No. 8161 and upon the north aide of Eleventh Street from the west line of Orange Avenue eighty (80) feet wide, as alwon upon the Map of said Azusa Heights Tract to the west line, produced of the alley in Block 6, of the said Map of Azusa; said twenty-four (24) lighting posts to be constructed upon the above-mentioned streets and avenues, as shown on the plans, profiles, cross-sections, and drawings Resolution of Intention, as appears from the affidavit of Arthur Wolfe, • Street Superintendent, who personally posted the same, and tzho upon the completion of the posting of said notices, forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the 7th day of July, 1927; and whereas, all protests or objections presented have been heard and disposed of in time, form and manner as required by law, and said Board of Trustees having now'acquired juris- diction to order the proposed improvement, it is hereby 5 RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described and the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa hereby orders the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City to -wit: That a total of twenty-four (24) ornamental lighting poets shall be constructed upon Orange, Sunset, and Angeleno Avenues, and upon Vista Bonita and Eleventh Streets within the limits of said Tract No. 8161 and upon the north aide of Eleventh Street from the west line of Orange Avenue eighty (80) feet wide, as alwon upon the Map of said Azusa Heights Tract to the west line, produced of the alley in Block 6, of the said Map of Azusa; said twenty-four (24) lighting posts to be constructed upon the above-mentioned streets and avenues, as shown on the plans, profiles, cross-sections, and drawings Nos. 1067, 1069, and 1070, and as described in Resolution of Intention No. 995, reference to which is hereby made for further particffilars. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to post a notice of said work, together with the plane and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five • days on or near the c ouncil chamber door, of said City inviting sealed pro- posals or bids for doing the work ordered. Said Clerk is also directed to publish twice, a notice inviting such proposals,,a.nd referring to the specifications posted or on file, in the Pomotropio, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby designated gor that purpose. All proposals or bids�,ihall be accompanied by a check payable to the City of Azusa certified by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be lase than ten percent o.f the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for • thesaid amount and so payable, signed byj the bidder and two suretiee, who shall justify, before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double the said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the ea-offioio clerk of the Board of Trustees of said City, on or before 7:30 o'clock P. M. on Monday the /S day of u s 7' _, 1927, said time being not • less than ten days from the time of the first posting and publication of the notice of said work and inviting sealed proposals, on which day and hour all proposals or bids will be publicly opened by said Board.
