A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE IIIPROVEIIENT OF A PORTION OF
SOLDANO AVENUE, FROLI THE SOUTH LINE OF FOURTH STREET TO THE NORTH
LINE OF THE ALLEY 400 FEET SOUTH OF SECOND. STREET IN SAID CITY AND
DECLARING THE IISPRO'M-ENT TO BE OF I,IORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY
PUBLIC BENEFIT; IND THAT THE COST AND ERPENSES THEREOF ARE TO BE
BORNE UPON A DISTRICT, AIM DETERIIINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as
follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require
and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City
• of Azusa to order the following work to be done, to -wit:
First: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be con-
structed along each line of the roadway of
SOLDANO AVENUE
from the south line of Fourth Street to the north line of the al-
ley parallel to and four hundred (400) feet south of the south line
- -of Sec-ond Street as shorn upon the Idap of Azusa, as recorded in
Book 15, Page 93, PIiscel.laneoue Records of Los.Angeles County and
anon the Ilan of the ISountain View Tract as recorded in Book 12
Page 65 Records of Los Angeles County; except upon such portions
of said avenue upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width
has already been constructed and now is to the official line and
grade, in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement
Plans. Profiles and Cross-sectione No. 1059, and in further ac-
cordance with Specifications No. 1055-A for the construction of
cement sidewalks upon certain streets in the City of Azusa.
Second: That a cement curb be constructed along each line od'
the roadway of
SOLDANO AVENUE
from the south line of Fourth Street to the north line of the alley
parallel to and four hundred (400) feet south of the south line of
Second Street as shown upon the IJap of Azusa, as recorded in Book
15, Page 93, Niscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County and upon
the map of the Mountain Vier Tract sea recorded in Book 12 Page85
Records of Los Angeles County; except upon such portions of said
avenue upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and
nowi is to the official line and grade, in accordance i7ith and where
shown upon the Plane, Profiles and Cross-sections No. 1059, and in
further accordance with Specifications No. 1055-B for -the construe -
tion of cement curbs upon certain streets in the City of Azusa.
Third: That Trees be planted upon each line.of the roadrey of
SOLDAidO AVE:M
from -the south line of Pourth Street to the north line of the al-
ley parallel to and four hundred (401) feet south of the south
line of Second Street as shown upon the Map of Azusa, as recorded
in Book 15, Page 93, Miecellaneous Records of Los Lngeles County
and upon the Kap of the Mountain View Tract as recorded in Book 12
• Page 85 ,Records of Los Lngeles County; except upon such portions
of said Avenue, upon which trees have already been planted, and now
are to the official line and grade; in accordance with and where
shorn upon the P1_ns, Profiles and Cross-sections No. 1059 and in
further accordance with Specifications No. 1055-C for the planting
• of trees upon certain Streets in the City of Azusa.
Section --2. AND, 17HEREAS SAID contemplated rork_and improve -
went, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, is of more than lo-
cal or ordinary public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense
of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which
district said Board hereby declares to be the district benefited
by said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the cost,-
and
osts
and expenses thereof; which said district is bounded and described
. as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 13 of Block 64 of said
Kap of Azusa thence south in a direct line to the southeast corner
of Lot 16 of the said Lountain View Tract, thence rest in a direct
line to the southwest corner of Lot 17 of said I..ountain View Tract,
thence north in a direct line to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of
Block 63 of said Liap of :'zusa, thence east in a direct line to the
point of beginning. Excepting therefrom in said Aseesement die-
trict :?o. .1-5 so much of said land as may be rithin the lines of

any public street Alley. The basis of ,bearir• used in this
description is Soldano .venue north, as shoran on said kap of Azusa.
Reference is hereby made.to Iiap No. 1059-A showing ,assessment
District No. A-5 approved and adopted by the said Board of True -
tees by Resolution No. 984 on May 2, 1927, and novr on file in the
office of the City EnJi-:3er.
Section 3. That all of the work aforesaid shall be done to
the official grade as shoein on said plan No. 1059, and in accord -
ante with specifications I?o's. 1055-A, 1055-B, and 1055-C for the
construction of sidewalks, curbs, and the planting of trees, re-
epectively, upon certain streets in the City of Azusa.
Section 4. The plans, profiles, cross-sections and Qpecifi-
cations referred to in this resolution are on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City. Said Plans, Profiles, Cross-sec-
tions, and Specifications are hereby referred to for a more part-
icular description of said work and are made a part hereof.
Section 5. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to re -
present unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven
per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by the improvement bond act of 1915, the last installment of which
bonds shall mature fourteen years from the second day of July next
succeeding ten months from their date.
Section 6. That the proceedings for the aforesaid improve-
ment shall be had and taken under an act of the Legislature of thB
State of California, entitled: "An act to provide for.work upon
streets, lanes, alleys, courts, places and sidewalks and for the
construction of severs within municipalities" approved March 18,
1885 (commonly known as the 7rooman tact), and under all acts sup-
plementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
Section 7. The streets herein -before referred to are public
streets of the City of Azusa, as shown on the Lap of Azusa record-
ed in Book 15, Page 93, I.:iscellaneoue Records and upon the I.iap of
said L'ountain 7iev Tract as recorded in B.,ok 12 Page 85 , Be -
cords of Los Angeles County.
Section 8., The Strec-t Superintendent shall post notice of thi5
work, as required by law, and shall cause said notice to be pub-
lished once in the Pomotropic.
Section 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution, shall cause the same to be published for trio weeks
in the Pomotropic, and shall post the same conspicuously for two
days on or near the Chamber door of said Board of Trustees, and
thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted
• by the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa at its meeting of
the 6th of June, 1927, by the following vote of the Board:
