A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE' CITY OF AZUSA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF ALAMEDA AVENUE FROM SIXTH STREET TO SANTA'FE AVENUE IN. SAID CITY, AND DECLARING THE IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC: BENEFIT, AND THAT THE COST OF THE SAID IM= PROVEMENT SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT, AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST TIEREOF. The Board of Trustees cf the City of Azusa do resolve as follows: Section 1: That the public interest an d convenience require and that it is the intention of -the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa to order the following work to be done, to -wit: First: That eleven (11) cast steel lighting posts shall be constructed along the east side of Alameda Avenue. from the north line of Sixth Street to .the southerly line.of Santa Fe Avenue, and that eleven (11) cast steel lighting posts be constructed along the west side of Alameda Avenue from the north line of Sixth Street to the'southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, together with the construction in said Alameda Avenue between the northerly line of Sixth Street and the south- erly line of Santa Fe Avenue of certain conduits, cables, wires, lamps and appliances for the.purpos,e, of,.lighting with electricity all that portion of said Alameda Avenue above described, all as shown on and in accordance with the plans, profiles, cross -sec- tions and drawings numbered 1065, 1066 and 1067 of said work on file in the,office of the,City, Engineer and in further accord- ance with Specificatibns'No. 1065-E for the installation of ornamental lighting posts 'upon 'certain "streets in the City of Azusa, said specifications being on rile in -the office of the City Clerk. That•in connection with the system for lighting the aforesaid portion of Alameda - Avenue certain conduit, cable, a transformer, -a time switch, a cut out box and other appurten- ances and appurtenant work be constructed in Sixth Street between the center line of Alameda Avenue and a line parallel -with the easterly .line of Alameda Avenue and Six owaI14ee lnal,rs feet easterly therefrom. That all of the aforesaid �,-rork and improvement is to be constructed at the grades showin on and in accordance with Plans numbered 1065,:1066 and 1067 on file as aforesaid, and in accordance with Specifications No. 1065-E on file as afore- said and said plans and specifications are hereby referred to for the full and detailed description of said work or improvement and for the rffescription of the grades at which said work shall be done. • Section 2: AND, IVIIEREAS; said contemplated work and " improvement, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees', is of more. than local or ordinary public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said Board hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement, and -to be assessed:to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which said dis- trict is bounded and described as'follows: ASSESSMENT DIT RICT NO. A-4 Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 36, Block 30,. Map of Azusa as recorded in Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County; thence southerly in a direct line• to the southeast corner of Lot 32 of Block 35; thence southerly to the center line of Sixth Street; thence'.westerly along said center line to the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 33, Block 36; thence northerly in a direct line.to the southwest corner of said Lot 33 of Block 36; thence northerly 2. in a direct line to the intersection of.the southerly line of Santa Fe Avenue and the easterly line of the alley in Block 29; thence northeasterly in a direct line.to the northtirest corner of -Lot 36, of Block 30; thence along the curved northerly boundary line of said Lot 36 to the point of.beginning, all as shown on the Map of Azusa as recorded in Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous Records • of Los Angeles County; excepting therefrom any.portion of any pub - lie street or alley which may be included in the above described district; all as shown on the Assessment District Map for the im-' provement, numbered 1068, heretofore approved and adopted by the Board of Trustees and on file in the office of the City Engineer, reference to which is hereby made for a more. complete and detailed description of said district. Said mapshall govern for all details • as to the extent of the said assessment district. Section 3: - Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of . seven per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner • "Improvement provided by the Bond Act of 1915", the last install- ment of which bonds shall'meture fourteen years from the second day of July next succeeding ten months from their date. Section 4. Reference is hereby made to license agreement' of Western Lighting Company, for price.cn King Company's Ferronite ornamental lighting Posts•-tb .be 'installed "hereunder and for price. of"General Electric Company's lghting.units .to be installed here- under. Said .licen'se "agreement is -on,, ile in the office of the City ' Clerk and`is dated Fe6rvory;21 1927: ' , "'Section 5: Notice is. hereby given that on Monday, the 18th day of;;April,'1927, at 7:'30:P.M."in the council. chamber of the Board of Trustees of said -city. -any and all persons having any ob- jections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said .,board and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. The Clerk shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the Pomotropic, a weekly news- paper published. and circulated 'in said city and hereby 3, • r designated for that purpose by the Board of Trustees, there being no daily newspaper published in said city. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspie- uously posted along the line.of said contemplated work and improvement and along all the open'streets'within said dia- trict above described notices of -the passage of this Resolu- tion.of Intention, in.the time, form and manner required by law. Except as hereinabove otherwise provided for the Issuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of.an act.of'the legislature.of the State of California designated .the "Impro.vement Act 'of 1911" approved April -7, 1911, and amendments thereto.
