M. 225 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Case, Chenoweth,Meier, Pierce, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Trustee: None. On motion duly carried the reading of the minutes were dispensed with. A communication was received from the Azusa Service COMMUNICATION FROM AZUSA Station relative to placing lights in the parkway SERVICE STATION REFERRED and was on motion duly carried referred to the Light TO L. SUPT. WITH -POWER TO Superintendent with power to act. ACT. On motion duly carried the request of the South- ern Counties Gas Company for permit to excavate across Sunset Avenue for gas service was granted. SO. CO'S. GAS CO. GRANTED PERMIT TO EXCAVATE. The matter of water service charge on property WATER SERVICE CHARGE ON of J. H. Rush was referred to the Water Superinten- PROPERTY OF J. H. RUSH dent to report at next meeting. REFERRED TO 17. SUPT. On motion duly carried the request of Special Officer Hamblin for a two weeks vacation commenc- ing October 12th,was granted. The following Resolution was presented: " A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF 2200.00 FROM'THE LIGHT FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND AND 250.00 FREM THE LIGHT FUND TO THE WATER FUND. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce. Noes: None. Absent: None. SPECIAL OFFICER HAMBLIN GRANTED VACATION. RESOLUTION NO. 736 It was moved that the Board of Trustees now proceed to canvass the votes of the Special Election held September 26th, 1923, in pursuance to Ordinance No. 222 of the City of Azusa and that tellers be appoint- ed to uanvass said votes. Motion carried. Trustees Meier and Moon were appointed tellers and they proceeded to canvass said election returns. After.convassing said election returns Trustee Beier, reported that they had found the vote to be as follows. to -wit: Shall the City of Azusa incur a bonded debt of ' 635,000.00 for the acquisition, construction, repair, maintenance and completion of Street work upon public streets of the City of Azusa? Total votes cast ------- 514 Yes -------------------- 439 No----------------------- 45 and offered- that certain resolution entitled: " A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF A VOTE HELD AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HAD AT AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, SEPTEMBER 26, 1923". Said Resolution was read, and on -motion, said Resolution being Resolution No. 736 was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Pierce,'Chenoweth. Noes: None. Absent: None. CANVASS OF VOTES. 226 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 1st, 1923. 7:30 P. M. 227 A communication was read from the Azusa Foot- COMMUNICATION FROM Hill Company relative to the use of their canyon A. F -H Co. ORDERED well and the same was ordered acknowledged and filed. ACKNOWLEDGED & FILED. It was moved that the City Clerk be authorized to purchase a set of god.es at a cost of not to exceed 430.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Pierce. Noes. None. Absent: None. CITY CLERK AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE SET OF CODES GENERAL FUND. '8699 G. It was moved that the City Engineer be instructed CITY ENGINEER INSTRUCTED to proceed with the work of paving the street TO PROCEED WITH ST.WK. intersection at Azusa and Centre St., AT INTERSECTION OF AZUSA Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: AVE. & CENTRE ST.
