RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 944/
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE PORTIONS OF -ELEVENTH
STREET, TENTH STREET, AZUSA AVENUE AND SAN GABRIEL AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF.
RESOLVED, That it is the.intention of.the Board of
Trustees of the City of Azusa, to order the following work to be
• done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Azusa to order the following work to be done in
accordance with the provisions of an act of the Legislature of
the State of California entitled, "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK
IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, PLACES AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN MUNICI-
PALITIES" approved April 7, 1911, and known as the "IlLPROVEMENT
ACT OF 1911" and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory
thereof, to -wit:
FIRST:
. That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width and
a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of
said Eleventh Street from a line drawn across said Eleventh
• Street parallel to and sixteen feet west of the westerly lot line
of Lot 6, Block B of Azusa Heights Tract, as recorded in Book 11,
Page 49 of Maps, Recrods of Los Angeles County to a line drawn
parallel to and twelve (12) feet east of the easterly line of Lot
1, Block 5, Map of Azusa as recorded in Book 15, Page 93 Miscel-
laneous Records of Los Angeles County; except along such portions
of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in
width and a cement curb have already been constructed and now are
to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown
upon the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections No. 1055;
and in further accordance with Specifications No. 1055-A and 1055-B
for the construction of cement sidewalks and cement curbs respect-
ively upon certain streets in the City of Azusa.
SECOND:
That trees be planted along each line of the road-
way of said Eleventh Street from the easterly line of Orange
Avenue as shown on said Map of Azusa Heights Tract to the westerly
line of Azusa Avenue as shown on the said Map of Azusa; except
along such portions of said street upon which trees of like var-
ieties have already been planted and now are to the official line
and grade and are planted in accordance with and where shown upon
the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections No. 1055; and
'o in further accordance with Specifications No. 1055-0 for the plant-
ing of trees upon certain streets in the City of Azusa:
THIRD:
That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width and
a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of said
Tenth Street from the easterly line of Azusa Avenue as shown upon
the said Map of Azusa to a line drawn across said Tenth Street par-
allel to and sixteen (16) feet east of the easterly line of Lot 48
of the Orange Grove Tract as recorded in Book 12, Page 65 of Maps
Records of Los Angeles County; except along such portions of said
street upon which a cement sidewalk, five (5) feet in width, and a

cement curb have already been constructed and now.are to the
official line and grade in accordance with and where shown
upon the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections No:
1056; and in further accordance with Specifications No's.
1055-A and 1055-B for the construction of cement -sidewalks
and cement curbs, respectively, upon certain streets in the
City of Azusa.
• FOURTH:
That trees shall be planted along each line
of the roadway of said Tenth Street from the easterly line of
• Azusa Avenue as shown on said Map of Azusa to the westerly
line of Pasadena Avenue as shown on said Map of Orange Grove
Tract, except along such portions of said street upon which
trees of like variety or varieties have already been planted
and now are to the official line and grade and are planted
in accordance with and whereshown upon the improvement plans,
profiles and cross-sections No. 1056 and in further accordance
with Specifications No. 1055-C for the planting of trees upon
certain streets in the City of Azusa. ,
FIFTH:
That a cement sidewalk six (6) feet in width
• and a cement curb be constructed along the westerly side of
Azusa Avenue from the southerly line of Ninth Street to the.
southerly line of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
right of way, as shown on the Map of Azusa as recorded in Book
15, Page 93 Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County; ex-
cept along such portions of said Avenue upon which a sidewalk,
six (6) feet in width and a cement curb have already been con-
structed and now are to the official line and grade in ac-
cordance with and where shown upon the improvement plans,
• profiles and cross-sections No. 1057; and in further accord-
ance with Specifications No's 1055-A and 1055-B for the con-
struction of cement sidewalks, and cement curbs upon certain
streets in the City of Azusa; excepting, however, from all of
the afore described work, such portion as is required by law
to be kept inorder or repair by any person or company having
railroad tracks thereon.
SIXTH:
That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in
width and a cement curb be constructed along each line of the
roadway of San Gabriel Avenue from the southerly line of Ninth
Street to the southerly line of the Atchison Topeka and Santa
Fe Railway right of way as shown on the Map of Azusa as re-
corded in Book 15, Page 93 Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County; except along such portions of said Avenue upon which a
• cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width and a cement curb have
been constructed, and now are to the official line and grade in
accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plans,
profiles and cross-sections No. 1057; and in further accordance
withSpecifi.cations No's 1055-A and 1055-B for the construction
of cement sidewalks and cement curbs upon certain streets in the
City of Azusa; excepting,.however, from all of the afore des-
cribed work, such portion as is required by law to be kep tin
order or repair by any person or company having railroad tracks.

_ SECTION 2. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds.
to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate

of Seven (7%) per cent per annum wili be issued hereunder
in the manner provided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, t
the last installment of which bonds shall mature fourteen
(14) years from the second day of July next succeeding ten
(10) months from their date.
SECTION 3. All of said work shall be done in
accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore
• adopted for doing said work and now on file in the office
of the City Clerk.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday
the 7th day of February, 1927, at 7:30 o'clock P. M., in the
• Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said City, any
and all persons having any objections to the proposed work
or improvement may appear before said Board and show cause
why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in
accordance with this resolution.
The clerk shall cause this Resolution
of Intention to be published twice in the Pomotropic, a
weekly newspaper, published and circulated in said City and
hereby designated for that purpose by the Board of Trustees,
there being no daily ndwspaper, published in said City.
The Street Superintendent.shall cause
to be donspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated
• work and improvement and along all the open streets within
said district above described and in front of all the property
liable to be assessed, notices of the passage of this Resolu-
tion of Intention in time, form and manner required by law.
• Except as hereinabove otherwise
provided for the issuance of said serial bonds, all of the
herein proposed work shall .be done in pursuance of an Act of
the Legislature of the State of California, designated the
"Improvement Act of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and amend-
ments thereto.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly adopted by the Board of Trustees of
the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held January
