HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 12001 RESOLUTION NO- 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADDRESSED TO THE CONTRACTORS AND SUB -CONTRACTORS PERFORMING 4 THE 13ORK ON FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND OTHER STREETS. 6 WHEREAS there has been filed with the City Clerk 6 of the City of Azusa a petition signed by a great many of the 7 citizens and tax -payers of said City requesting that this Council 8 urge the contractors and sub -contractors doing the work or im- 9 provement on Foothill Boulevard and other streets and requesting 10 that local labor be employed thereon; 11 AND WHEREAS said petition is based on the proposi- 12 tion that our people must pay for the improvement and that they 13 are therefore legitimately entitled to be employed on said work 14 wherever they are able to perform the services; 16 AND WHEREAS this Council is in sympathy with said 16 request and believes that it is just and right, and knowing 17 that many of our citizens are able and willing to do much of 18 said work; 19 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that it is the sense of 20 i this Council that it is but just and fair that local labor shoulc 21 be employed on said Foothill Boulevard and other streets improve - 22 ments and that it is but just and fair that said contractors 23 should employ as much of our labor on said project as possible 24 and we therefore urge said contractors and sub -contractors to 25 employ Azusa labor where possible; 26 AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Res - Z7 olution be at once delivered to the principal contractor and all 28 subcontractors on said projects. 29 30 31 32 LAW OFFICE P.
