HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 153160 RESOLUTION NO. 1531 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROCLAIMING A STATE OF COURTESY WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA IN WHICH OUR RESIDENTS ARE REQUESTED TO SHOW THE TOURIST HOSPITALITY AND COURTESY. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the number of tourists entering Southern California each year now is so great they would populate a city the size of Los Angeles, and the entertainment of tourists is now Southern California's second largest industry; and WHEREAS, Southern California can look forward this summer to the greatest number of visitors this area ever entertained in one period; and WHEREAS, the average Southern Californian has come to take the tourist more or less for granted, with- out concerx%g himself greatly about his obligation as a host; and . I . , WHEREAS, each of Southern California's visitors should become a walking advertisement among eastern friends for Southern California; . NOW THEREFORE, The City Council of the City -of Azusa does hereby proclaim a state of courtesy, to continue without end, in said City, in which our residents are requested to show the tourist the hospitality and courtesy which will make Southern California.known throughout the world as "The Friendly Vacationland." Passed, approved and adopted this 21st day of June, 1937, by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Noes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Carr. None.
