RESOLUTION N0. ISZ
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A PORTION OF BLOCK "K" OF
AZUSA HEIGHTS TRACT, CITY OF AZUSA, FROM ANTONIO R. NUNEZ
AND ESQUIPULA C. DE NUNEZ, AND DIRECTING THAT THE DEED TO
SAID PROPERTY BE ACCEPTED BY THE CITY.
WHEREAS in order to extend Vernon Avenue in the
City of Azusa, southerly from Ninth Street, it is necessary
that the City of Azusa purchase additional property for
the right of way for said avenue, and
WHEREAS Antonio R. Nunez and Esquipula C. De
Nunez have offered to convey to the City of Azusa for said
purpose, on the terms herein set forth, the following
described property:
That portion of Block "K" of the Azusa Heights
Tract, in the City of Azusa, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 11, Page 49 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of said
Block "K"; thence East along the South line
of said Block fifty (50) feet; thence North
parallel with the West line of said Block
to the intersection with the North line
thereof; thence Westerly along said North
line to the Northwest corner of said Block
"K"; thence South along the Westerly line
of said Block one hundred fifty-seven and
thirty-one hundredths (157.31) feet to the
point of beginning.
WHEREAS said grantors have offered to sell, con-
vey and grant said property to the said city for the sum
of $600.00, payable $50.00 cash and the balance of $550.00
upon completion of the transaction through escrow, grantors
to pay all taxes and assessments accrued or payable on or
prior to April 30, 1937, said city to pay the expense of
title search, certificate of title insurance and other
incidental expenses:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that said purchase of
said property hereinbefore described on the foregoing terms
be and the same is hereby accepted, ratified and confirmed
by the City Council of the.City of Azusa acting for and on
behalf of the said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Azusa be and the same are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into an escrow agreement
with the aforesaid grantors, appointing the First National
Bank of Azusa as escrow agent, for the purpose of carrying
said purchase into effect, and to agree, on behalf of said
City, to the payment of said purchase price and the payment
of all incidental expenses such as escrow fees, recording
fees, U. S. Revenue stamps, title search charges and title
insurance fees, and other incidental expenses whether herein
specifically enumerated or not, made or incurred by reason
of said escrow.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the deed for said
hereinbefore described property be and the same is hereby
accepted by the City Council acting for and in behalf of
said City, and that the said deed be and the same is hereby
directed to be recorded on behalf of said City in the offices
of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the officers of the
said City of Azusa be and the same are hereby authorized
and directed to do all things requisite or proper in order
to carry out the terms of said purchase and of this
resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign
this Resolution and the City Clerk attest same and certify
to the passage and adoption thereof.

I DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution
was regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held in the
regular Council Chambers of said City Council on May 17,
1937, and that the same was passed and adopted by the
following vote of the Council:
