HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 14870 0 RESOLUTION NO.1-�I/Z A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusa determining that the public necessity and convenience require that certain streets within said be improved, and requesting the Board of Su- pervisors of Los Angeles County to appropriate funds with which to improve said streets. WHEREAS, there are within the City boundaries of the City of Azusa numerous streets which are in need of repair and should be re- constructed to adequately serve the public, but the City of Azusa has no funds available with which to pay the costs and expenses of the improvements which are necessary to be made; and WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles receives a distribution from the State of California out of its share of moneys collected from the levy of taxes on motor vehicle fuel and said County appropriates there- from annually such amounts as the Los Angeles County Board of Super- visors deems fair and reasonable to the respective municipalities with- in said County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby deitermines and declares that after a careful and thorough survey of the streets and portions thereof which are in need of repair and reconstruction, and which the publ c necessity and convenience re- -Ci of ab hd t S.0_ tfe re__:ka Y��y�rreaa} /�„�» f�ri�lle�rrl quire should be improved and the estimated cost thereof, are as follows: PROJECT NO.1 (a) Vernon Avenue from Crescent Drive to Eleventh Street, the construction of a 4 -inch base of disintegrated granite consisting of 16,320 square feet, and the laying of 30,600 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre- mix) one inch in thickness; (b) McKeever Avenue from Crescent Drive to Elevetth Street, the construo- tion of 19,400 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 34,920 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface,one inch in thickness; (c) of120�,800ue from square feetof Crescent tDrive to 4 -inch disinteenth atedtgranitehbase, annaction 37,440 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface,one inch in thickness; W. Crescent Drive from Vernon Avenue to Angeleno Avenue, the construct tion of 34,000 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 61,200 square feet of asphalt cancrete (pre -mix) wearing surface,one inch in thickness; (e) AngelenoAvenue from Cresooent Drive to Eleventh Street, the construo- tion of an asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness,upon the existing macadam pavement 18 feet in width,invol- ving 22,860 square feet; 1. (f). Tenth Street from San Gabriel Avenue to Azusa Avenue, the construc- tion of 14,400 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing sur- face, one inch in thickness; (g) Eleioenth Street from Azusa Avenue to Vernon Avenue, the construction of 43,920 square feet of 4-inoh disintegrated granite base, and 87,840 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface,one inch in thickness; (h) Soldano Avenue from Eleventh Street to Foothill Boulevard, the cons- truction of 37,800 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 79,560 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface, one in ch in thickness; (i) Pasadena Avenue from Eleventh Street to Foothill Boulevard, the con- struction of 75,600 AWil square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated gran- ite base, and 115,920 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wear- ing surface, one inch in thickness; (j) Eighth Street from Pasadena Avenue to Dalton Avenue, the construction of 10,800 square feet of 4 -inch disinteated granite base, sad 21,600 square feet of asphalt concrete rpre-mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness. Total estimated cost for all improvements described above under the heading of Project No.l-$11,900.00 PROJECT X0.2 Pasadena Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Fifth Street, the construo- tion of 1200 lineal feet of 60 x 90 x 180 concrete curb, 37,400 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 60,000 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness. Total estimated coat of Project No.2-$1,964.00. PROJECT N0.3 Pasadena Avenue from Fifth Street to Broadway, the construction of 77,000 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 165,000 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearin surface, one inch in thickness. Total estimated cost of Project No.33,670.00. PROJECT NO.4 (a) Fourth Street from Pasadena Avenue to Azusa Avenue, the construction of 24,000 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 43,200 square feet of asphalt concrete ( pre -mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness; (b) ofird 24,000eet squaremfeetof 4-irioh Pasadena Avenue disintegratedAvenues granitethe bases and construction 43,200 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness; (o) Second Street from Pasadena Avenue to Azusa Avenue, the construction of 24,000 square feet of 4 -inch disinteated granite base, and 43,200 square feet of asphalt concrete rpre-mix) wearing surface, one inch in thickness; (d) Alameda Avenue from Fifth Street to Second Street, the construction of 99,000 square feet of 4 -inch disintegrated granite base, and 134,640 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing surface, one inch 1n thickness; (e) Dalton Avenue from Fifth Street to Second Street, the construction of 63,360 square feet of 4 -inch disinte ated granite base, and 99,000 square feet of asphalt concrete (pre -mix) wearing sdrface, one inch in thickness; (f) Soldano Avenue from Fifth Street to Second Street, the construction of 63,360 -square feet of 4-inoh disinteated granite base, and 99,000 square feet of asphalt concrete rpre-mix) wearing surface, one inch innthickness. Total estimated cost for all improvementsxdescribed above under the heading of Project No.4-$11,100.00. 2. J BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that in view of the necessity of the improve- ments herein described and for which the City of Azusa has no funds with which to construct the same, that the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County be and they are hereby requested to appropriate(9) 'KoZo oe"'to;ama munt 'f to construct said improvements herein described out of its share of moneys collected by the State of California 0y from the levy of taxes on motor vehicle fuel and distributed by said State to said Los Angeleaz0ounty and to be expended for the construction, maintenance and repair of highways and streets within said County. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the construction of said improve - meats, the City of Azusa will furnish at its own cost and expense the ser- vices of its Street Superintendent, and one 12 -ton Road Roller, one patrol grader, three truoke, and such other equipment as may be necessary to oom- plate said work in a satisfactory and expeditious manner. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and instruo- ted to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles Coounty, California.
