HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1484RESOLUTION NO.H A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1936, AND GIVING A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCT AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACE; FIXING THE.TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN; APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN AT SUCH :.LECTION AS REQUIRED BY LA77. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: - Section 1. That there be held in the City of Azusa, California., on Tuesday the 14th day of April, 1936, a general municipal election by the qualified electors of said City of Azusa for the purpose of electing the following City Officers to -wit: -- Three members of the City Council. Two for a full term of four years and one for a short term of two years. A City Clerk for a full term of four years. A City Treasurer for a full-term of four years. Section 2. Be it further resolved that the number of voting precincts for the purpose of holding said election shall be one, to be known as Consolidated Election Precinct A and said Consolidated Election Precinct A shall consist of the entire City of Azusa, being Azusa City Precincts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 42 5 and 6 of the regular State and County Election and the polling place for said Consolidated Election Pre- cinct A is hereby located in the City Hall Building in Block 30 of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, between Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue. Section 3. That the Board of Election for such Consolidated Election Precinct A is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: JOSEPH C_ M11F.HF. Judges: MRS. MARIE PETTYJOHN /.i MRS. INDIA SEARS Clerks: MRS. VIRGINIA M. HERTENSTEIN to Section 4. That the polls of said election must be opened at 6 o'clock.A. M. of the date of election and must be kept open until 7 o'clock P. M. of said day, when the polls shall be closed except and provided however that if at the hour of closing there are any other voters in .the polling place or in line at the door who are -qualified to vote'and have not been able to do so since their appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote. Section 5. That notice of this election and list of nominees shall be published by the City Clerk as required by law in the Azusa Herald & Pomotropic. Section 6. 'That the City -Clerk -shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular. meeting 1936., by the following vote of the Council:.
