Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, P.1eier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. City Clerk and City Attorney. Absent: None. It was regularly moved and carried that the reading of the minutes of the last meeting be dispensed with. On motion duly carried the request of slla Aguilar for a nine day vacation commenting Idarch 3, 1924, was granted. It was moved that the Board of Trustees now proceed to canvass the votes of the Special Election held February 25th, 1924, in pursu- ance to Ordinance Ido. 227 of the City of Azusa and that tellers be appointed to canvass said ELLA AGUILAR GRANTED VACATION. votes. Motion carried. Trustees Meier and Moon were appointed tellers and they proceeded to canvass said election returns. After canvassing said election returns Trustee Meier reported that they had found the vote to be as follows: to -wit: VOTES CANVASSED. Shall the City of Azusa incur a bonded debt of p50,000.00 for the acquisition, con- struction, and completion of street work upon public streets of the City of -Azusa, specifically portions of First Street, Cente S r;etr, Azusa H zr Avenue, Cerritos Avenue, and Angeleno Avenue, as well as all of second street, Third Street, Eighth Street, Ninth Street, Eleventh Street and Crescent Drive? ' Total -votes -cast---------- 433 Yes - -- 401 No -- 27 Blanks spoiled or mutilated 5 and offered that certain Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION DECLARING THIS RESULT OF THE VOTE AT THE. Said Resolut ion was read, and on motion, said Resolution being Resolution Ido. 763 was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote. Ayes: Trustees: Noon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following Ordinance was presented: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUIRI14G DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE TO BE NUZZLED, PROVIDING FOR THE DESTROYING OF UNIAUZZLED DOGS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLA- TION OF SAID ORDINANCE. It was moved that the same be taken up for its first reading. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Pdoes: None. Absent: ;done. The Ordinance was read. On motion duly carried the Ordinance was declared read for the first time and taken up for its second reading. 'The Ordinance was read. On motion duly carried the Ordinance was declared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. The Ordinance was read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees. Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. ORDINANCE NO. 228 ADOPTED. It was moved that the action of the Board of Trustees MOTION RECITdDED. at the meeting held I±ebruary 18, 1924 authorizing the President and Cleric to execute a deed of Lots 26-27 and a portion of Lots 11 and 12 in Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and `,Vater Company be reci nded. Abuont: Node. 1:IINUTES OF MEEETING HELD FEBRUARY 26th, 1924 It was moved that the President of the Board and the City Clerk be authorized to make, execute and deliver a deed in favor of the Title Insur- ance and Trust Company as 'Trustee to be prepared by the City Attorney in accordance with the Con- tract between the City of Azusa and F'. S. Lack and between the City of Azusa and the Union Rock Company covering all of Lots 11 -12 -26 -and 27 of Subdivision #2, Azusa Land and Water Company ex- cepting the northerly 100 feet thereof also a deed in favor of the Union Rock Company in accord- ance with its contract with the City of Azusa covering the northerly 100 feet of said property. Carried by the following vote: ryes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. aloes: None. Absent: done. It was moved that the City Attorney be and he is hereby instructed to use said deeds in accord- ance with said contracts. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: 1+one. It was moved that the City Attorney be instructed to notify (at such time as he may deem fit) the Union Rock Company of the termination and cancella- tion of its lease with the City of.Azusa covering Lots 11-12-26 and 27, Subdivision #2 Azusa Land & Water Company. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Noon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. It was moved that the City Clerk be instructed to draw warrants in favor of the Election Officers at the Special Bond Election in accordance with the terms of the Ordinance calling the same.
