The -City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
BE.IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa:
Section 1: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized
and directed to open `an account in the First National Bank,of the
City of Azusa to be known as the "Payroll Account".
Section 2: Be it further resolved that the City Clerk is
hereby authorized to draw a demand and warrant against the general
fund .of said City in the sum of $250.00 for the purpose of establish -
Ing said payroll account.
Section 3 Be it further resolved that the Finance Committee
Of the City Council is hereby authorized to transfer funds representing
the total payroll earnings of all departments of the City of Azusa
as recorded by a detailed itemization of each employees gross earn-
ings attached to the demands made against such fund for'each payroll
period.
Section 4: Be it further resolved that the First National Bank is
hereby authorized to cash payroll checks drawn against said payroll
account of the City, upon the signature of the City Clerk, and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to deduct'from said payroll checks of
each employee such amount or amounts as represent any tax
directed to be deducted under and by virtue of any law of the
Federal government or the State of California and to transmit
such deducted taxes to the proper legal entities to which the
same are due.
Section 5: Be it•further.resolved that such checks as are
drawn against said payroll account shall be made in duplicate
and that the body of the c4eck4shbw'the gross earnings and deduc-
tions of the various taxes and bond: contributions, one copy of
said check to be retained by the employee and the original check.
to be passed through the bank and charged against the City Pay-
roll Account. That at the end of each quarter, a check be
remitted to the Collector of Internal Revenue, representing the
total victory tax withheld. That bond purchases also be checked
out of said payroll account.
Section 6; 1 The Mayor shall sign this resolution and the
City Clerk shall attest the same and certify to the passage and
adoption then, -of.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was regularly adopted by the City Council of the
City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held in
the regular Council Chambers of said Council in the City of
Azusa on Anri 1 19 1943, and that the same was
passed and adopted by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
