A.Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusa deter-
mining that the public necessity and convenience require that
certain portions of Twelfth Street, Orange Avenue, Bunset Ave-
nue, -Angeleno Avenue, Irwindale Avenue, and First Street with-
in said City be improved from gas tax funds allocated by Los
Angeles County out of its share of moneys collected from the
levy,of such taxes on Motor Vehicle fuel and dhstrubuted to
said County by the State of California for the 1942-1943 fiscal
year.
WHEREAS, the.County of Los Angeles receives a distribution from
the State of California out of its share of moneys collected from the
levy of taxes on motor vehicle fuel and said Los Angeles County has
allocated to the City of Azusa the sum of $3728.02 for the 1942-1943
fiscal year for the improvement of streets within said City; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles requires that the City of Azusa
determine and submit for approval the streets which it proposes to
improve from the funds allocated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Azusa, after a careful and thorough survey of the condition of the
respective streets within said City, hereby determines and declares
that the public necessity and convenience require the improvement of
the following described streets, to -wit:
1.TWELFTH STREET from a line 136 feet easterly of the east line of
Angeleno Avenue to Orange Avenue be improved by the construction of
a concrete curb along the southerly side thereof and plant -mixed sur-
facing between the southerly edge of the existing pavement and the
southerly curb line of a total width of four (4) feet, at a total
estimated cost of $390.00 .
2. ANGELENO AVENUE from the southerly line of Twelfth Street to a
line 80 feet southerly thereof be improved by the construction of
concrete curb along the easteriy and westerly sides of the roadway
and plant -mixed surfacing, 4 feet in width, along the easterly and
westerly sides of the existing pavement, at a total estimated cost
of $84.00 .
3. SUNSET AVENUE from the southerly line of Twelfth Street to a line
80 feet southerly thereof, be improved by the construction of con -
orate curb along the easterly and westerly sides of the roadway and
plant -mixed surfacing, 4 feet in width, along the easterly and west-
erly sides of the existing pavement, at a total estimated cost of
$87.00 .
4. ORANGE AVENUE from the southerly line of Twelfth Street to a line
80 feet southerly thereof, be improved by the construction of con-
crete curb along the easterly side of the roadway and plant -mixed
surfacing, 4 feet in width, along the easterly side of the emistfng
pavement, at a total estimated cost of $43.50 .

5. IRWINDALE AVENUE from the North City Limit at First Street to
.the South City Limit at Broaftay be improved by resurfacing -the
existing pavement with plant -mixed surfacing to a width of 22 feet,
11 feet easterly and westerly of the center line of said Irwindale
Avenue, at a total estimated cost of #1975.00
S. FIRST STREET from Azusa Avenue to Vernon Avenue be improved by
resurfacing the existing pavement, 14 feet in width, and widening
the said pavement to a total width of 18 feet, with plant -mixed
surfacing, at a --.total estimated cost of .$1568.50 . Of this total
amount, the suof $1145.52 to be paid from funds allocated by Los
Angeles County and the remaining balance in the sum of $422.98 to
be paid from funds contributed by the City of Azusa.
7. Total estimated cost of improvements as given herein, $4151.00
Total amount to be contributed by the City of Azusa, 422.98

The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby directed to for-
ward a certified copy of this resolution to Mr. O.F.Cooley, Road Com-
missioner, 1104 Hall of Records, Loa Angeles," California.

regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa,
signed by the Mayor of said City, and attested by the City Clerk of
said City, all at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of
October,1942, and that the same was passed by the following vote,to-wit:
