HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1763RESOLUTION NO.1763 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO THE SUBSTI- TUTION OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF FIFTH STREET INSTEAD OF LEMON AVENUE.AND LOUISE AVENUE AS SET FORTH IN RESOLUTION NO.1754 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AND IN THE -RESOLU- TION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, PASSED ON APRIL 21, 1942. IN RE PARAMOUNT AVENUE: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa did on the 7th day of April, 1942, pass Resolution No.1754, describing therein the streets proposed to be improved whithin the City of Azusa from the funds allocated to said City of Azusa by,Los::Angeles County out of its share of moneys collected and distributed by the State of California from the levy of taxes on motor vehicle fuel for the 1941- 1942 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County did on the 21st day of April, 1942, pass a Resolu- tion approving the improvement of the respective streets described in the aforesaid Resolution No.1754, of the City Council of the City of Azusa; and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa since the aforesaid Resolution was. passed, has given further con- sideration to the necessity of improving the portions of Louise Avenue and Lemon Avenue described in said Resolution at this time-, but is of the opinion that.the improvement of a portion of Fifth Street within said City is of much' greater public necessity and convenience; NODI, .­THEREFORE,� BE IT RESOLVED, that the City ,Council of the City of Azusa requests that the improvement of�Lemon Avenue from Fifth Street to Foothill Boulevard, and Louise Avenue from Sixth Street to Santa Fe Avenue, as des- cribed in the aforesaid Resolution No.1754, and estimated to cost, as set forth in said Resolution, 4312.00 and X104.00 respectively, or a total cost of X416.00, be abandoned and instead thereof, the improvement 'of the•following street be substituted: �. Fifth Street from the west line of Angeleno Avenue to the east line.of Virginia Avenue be improved by grading and 'the construction of'an asphaltic concrete sidewalk 4 feet in width and'lw inches in thickness to be located between the, northerly curb and property lines of said street,•at a.total. estimated .cost of X435.00. Of this amount, :;416.00 will.be paid from fundsallocated by Los Angeles Count and -19.00 from City of Azus,a funds.. The City Clerk of. the City of Azusa is hereby directed and authorized to forward a certified copy of this Resolution;to Mr. 0.
