RESOLUTION NO. 1750
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING
CITY ENGINEER PAUL E. KRESSLY ON THE
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE AZUSA CITY
SEWERAGE SYSTEM AND DISPOSAL PLANT.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS the City of Azusa has in the past
been handicapped by a lack.o£ sewerage system and
disposal plant, but under the guidance and direction
of City Engineer Paul E. Kressly was able some two
years ago to make approved arrangements with the Federal
Works Progress Administration for the construction of
an adequate sewerage plant and system for the accomo-
dation, with but slight further additions to the dis-
posal plant, of a city of some 40,000 inhabitants, and
WHEREAS on April 5, 1940, the construction of
said sewerage system and disposal plant was entered upon
by the City in conjunction with the W.P.A. and carried
to prompt completion on January 7, 1942, and
WHEREAS the disposal plant designed by and
erected under the direction of the said City Engineer
Paul E. Kressly is a model of its kind and the system
of sewers threading throughout the city and into said
disposal plant is adequate and complete, all of which
reflect great credit upon the capacity of said City
Engineer for beauty of design and.thoroughness in
detail, and
WHEREAS said disposal plant and sewerage
system have been constructed and completed at a total
cost of $363,000.00, of which $106,000.00 was paid by
said City and $257,000.00 by said W.P.A., without any
bonded debt whatsoever being voted or incurred by said
City and paid for in cash by said City without any
overhanging indebtedness:
NOW THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED that the
untiring efforts and keen forsight and judgment of
City Engineer Paul E. Kressly in designing and super-
intending the construction and completion of the sewer-
age system and disposal plant of the City of Azusa be
and the same are hereby recognized and commended, and
the appreciation of the said City and the City Council
thereof are duly hereby made a part of the public
records of said City.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of said
City shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall
attest same and certify to the passage and adoption thereof.

City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Azusa at a regular meeting of said City Council held in
the regular Council Chambers of said City Council in
said City on February 2nd, 1942, and that the same was
passed and adopted by the following vote of the Council: -
Ayes: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None.
