A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTIOd NO. 1703 ENTITLED °A RESOLTTIOI: OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DETERt,,IbiII.G THAT THE PUBLIC NECESSITY AIM COPVE t ENCE RECUIRE THAT FOURTH STREET AND FIRST STREET WITHIII SAID CITY BE I11PROVED FROM FUNDS ALLOCATED BY LOS ANGaES COUNTY OUT OF ITS SHARE OF I.40NEYS COLLECTED FROI:I THE LEVY OF TAXES ON MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL AND DISTRIBUTED TO SAID COUNTY BY THE STATE OF CA.LIFORI•iIA FOR --HE 1940 - 1941 FISCAL YEAR". WHEREAS the County of Los Angeles receives a distribution from the State of California out of its share of moneys collected from the levy of ta;:es on motor vehicle fuel and said Los Angeles County has allocated to the City of Azusa the sum of�03,471.82 for the 1940 - 1941 fiscal year for the Improvement of streets within said City, and ',�IIEREAS the County of Los Angeles requires that the City of Azusa determine and submit for approval the streets which it proposes to improve from the funds allocated, and WHEREAS the City of Azusa has heretofore on or about the 3rd day of A:arch, 1941, passed a resolution wherein was set forth the names of the streets which it proposes to improve from the funds allocated as hereinbefore set forth, and WHEREAS it now develops that said allocated moneys could be used to better advantage by using only part of said allocated moneys on said Fourth Street and First Street and usin the balance of said moneys on improving other streets in the ity of Azusa, the pavement on which has been more or less torn up by reason of the installation of A sewage system in said City; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby amend its -Resolution No. 1703 passed and approved on March 3, 1941. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa, a#'te.r a careful and thorough survey of the respective streets within its City, hereby determines and declares that the public necessity and convenience require the Improvement of the following streets and portions thereof; - 1. Fourth Street from Dalton Avenue to Pasadena Avenue to be improved by grading and the construction of an asphaltic con- crete surface; 2. First Street from Alameda Avenue to Vernon Avenue, to be improved by grading certain parts thereof; 1. 0 0 3. Lateral intersections at First Street, Second. Street, Third Street, Fourth @treet, Fifth Street, Sixth Street, Ninth Street, Tenth Street Eleventh Street and also at Santa Fe `venue. 4., Repairing Pasadena -Dalton Clash to Tenth Street. 5. Soldano Avenue, Second to Eleventh Street. 6. Dalton Avenue, Second to Eleventh Street. 7. Angelino Avenue, Sixth To Twelfth Street. 8. Sunset Avenue, Sixth to Twelfth Street. 9. Orange Avenue, Fifth to Twelfth Street. 10. Lemon Avenue, Fifth to Foothill Blvd. 11. One Block on Louise Avenue. 12. Tro Blocks on Lionte Vista Avenue. 13. Two Blocks on Cerritos. 14. One Block on Sixth Street from Pasadena to Cerritos. The total estimated cost of all streets to be improved as given above is X3,471.82. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in connection with the construction of said improvements the City of Azusa will furnish at its own cost and expense the services of its Street Superin- tendent and the use of one 12 -ton road roller, one tandem roller, one patrol grader and three trucks and such other equipment ao the City owns, in order that said work may be completed in a satisfactory and expeditious manner. THE CITY CLERIC OF THE CITY OF AZUSA is hereby authorized and instructed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County California, accompanied by a. request that the amount of 03,471.82 allocated by said County to the City of Azusa for the improvement of said streets herein mentioned be transmitted as soon as these funds are available for distribution in order that the work of construction may be commenced.
