RESOLUTION NO. 1697
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
THE GRANT OF AN EASEMENT, DATED DECEMBER 20, 1940,
FROM THE AZUSA FUUTHILL CITRUS COMPANY, TO THE
CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS an easement for a strip of land located in the
City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, said strip being
That portion of Lot 53 of Subdivision No. 2
of the Azusa Land and Water Co. in the City of
Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map recorded in Book 43, Page 94 of Mis-
cellaneous Records of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the South-
easterly "line of The Atchison, Topeka End Santa
Fe Railway Company's Right of Way, -100 feet wide,
and a line parallel with and 6.0 feet easterly,
measured at right angles, from.the easterly line
of Virginia Avenue, 60 feet wide, as conveyed to
the City of Azusaby deed recorded in Book 8263,
page 151 of Official Records of said County;
thence Southerly along said parallel line a dis-
tance of 50.0 feet; thence Southerly in a direct.
line to a point in said easterly line of Virginia
Avenue distant southerly thereon, 90.0 feet from
said Southeasterly right of way line; thence
Northerly along said easterly line of Virginia
Avenue to said southeasterly right of way line;
thence Northeasterly along said southeasterly
right of way line to the point of beginning.
has been made by the Azusa Foothill Citrus Company, a corporation,
to the City of Azusa, a municipal corporation, for the purpose of con-
structing and maintaining fill slopes for the lateral and vertical.
support of Virginia Avenue, by written easement dated December 20,
1940 and acknowledged December 20, 1940,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the aforesaid grant of
land from the Azusa Foothill Citrus Company, be and the same is here-
by accepted, ratified and confirmed by the City of Azusa.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid easement be and
the same is hereby, by the said City of Azusa, authorized and directed
to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESULVED that the officers of said City of
Azusa be and the same hereby are authorized and directed to do all
things requisite or proper in order to carry out the terms of said
easement and of this Resolution..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of said City shall
sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest same and
certify to the passage and adoption thereof.

Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was .duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of
the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said City Council held
in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council in said City
on January 20, 1941, and that the same was passed and adopted by
the following vote of the Council:
