A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR FURNISHING CERTAIN MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT, AND APPLIANCES IN CONNEC-' TION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SYNAGE TREATMENT PLANT, AND REJECTING BIDS SUBMITTED ON SEVERAL OF SUCH ITEMS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: This City Council hereby finds and declares that the bidders hereinafter mentioned are the lowest, regular, responsible bidders on the respective items listed under the names of said respective bidders for the furnishing of machinery, equipment, and appliances.in accord- ance with plans, specifications, sketches, and instructions to bidders of the City of Azusa, and/or specifications, sketches, plans, and descriptive matter attached to the proposal by the respective bidders; and this City Council hereby awards the contracts for furnishing said machinery, equipment, and appliances to the said bidders hereinafter mentioned at the prices set opposite each item as follows, to -wit: To WALLACE AND TIERNAN.SALES CORP., the following Item Number: Item No. 200 For one (1) Wallace and Tiernan Visible Vacuum solution feed Chlorinator, Type MSV, maximum capacity 40 lbs. of Chlorine per 24 hours, capacity range 4 to 1, as per specifications, sketches, and de- scriptive matter attached to the pro- posal, complete for the sum of.......... 1270.00 To THE DORR COMPANY, INC., the following Item Number. Item No. 205 For one (1) Clarifier and Scum Skinner, complete with Electric Motor, Driving Mechanism, Mechanism Housing, Scum Trough, etc. as per sketches, plans, specifications, and descriptive matter. for Item No. 205 -Alternate, attached to the proposal submitted, complete for the sum of..., ..... 2,001.00 And be it further resolved, that all other bids.or proposals submitted on the above mentioned Items No. 200 and 205 are hereby rejected; also that all bids or proposals submitted on Item No. 209, Sewage Meters, are hereby rejected, and the City Council declares and determines that in its opinion the equipment and/or appliances of said Item No. 209 may be purchased at a lower price in the open market and that it is to the best interests of the City to do so. The City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to return all certified or cashier's checks which were attached to the proposals of the unsuccessful bidders on the above mentioned 4em Noss. 200 and 205, and all such checks which were attached to the roposals of all bdylers on Item No. 209. 1A U rAM The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed and authorized to sign said contracts for and on behalf of the City of Azusa. Smith, our fellow townsman and friend midst into that realm from which no traveler WHEREAS the deceased was at one time a member of the City Council of this City where he labored faithfully for the public good and gave much of his time and energy toward solving the City's problems and making our community a better place in which to live; and WHEREAS in the passing of Thomas A. Smith the community has lost a real friend, worker and neighbor. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, at a regular meeting held this 1st day of April, 1940, that we hereby express our per- sonal loss and sympathy as well as the heartfelt sympathy of this community to the members of the bereaved family in the loss of a faithful husband, a good father, staunch friend and useful citizen. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes and a copy thereof be sent to the family of the deceased. Passed and adopted this ist day of April, 1940.
