HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1634RESOLUTION NO. 1634 1 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 3 OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, 4 REGULATING SICK LEAVE. { 5 6 The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve 7 as follows; 8 SECTION 1. Commencing.January 1, 1940, all employees 9 and officers of the City of Azusa, regularly (as distinguished • from casually) employed by said City under and by virtue of 10 Resolution of the City Council of said City, or holding an elective office in said City, shall, in the event of illness 11 incapacitating such employee or officer from performing the duties of his employment with said City,- be entitled to a sick leave o f f 12 one day for each calendar month already served in the continuous employment of said city, which said sick leave shall be cumulative) 13 up to and including twelve days bzt shall not be cumulative beyond said right to sick leave of a total of twelve days. In the 14 event such officer or employee isabsent from his work on sick leave as defined herein, but receives his pay notwithstanding 15 such absence and in accordance with the terms of this Resolution, the total number of days for which said employee or officer re- 16 ceives pay although absent on sick leave, shall be deducted from the aggregate of days of sick leave to which said employee or 17 officer had up to that time been entitled. I 18 SECTION 2. In the event of illness incapacitating an employee or officer as hereinbefore defined in SECTION 1, from 19, performing the duties of his employment, such employee or officer shall be entitled; notwithstanding such illness, to his 20 regular pay for such duration of said illness as is not in excess of said employee's or officer's right to sick leave as 21 computed in accordance with the terms of this Resolution. 22 SECTION, The right of an .employee or officer of the City of Azusa to s16k leave, as prescribed in this Resolution, 23 shall-jand does have no bearing whatooever'on other privileges Q such ,employee Qr,offieer or on vacation rights,, such right to 2irl ObTbk leave being" limAid in effect N,6 incapacities of an employee or officer by reason of actual i1Tne.ss; nor shall such right to 25 sick leave be held or construed to extend,or to add to, the term of employment- or pay of any e*loy,ee or officer beyond the i 26time legally fixed for the termina�iIgn.of such employment. 27 SECTION.4.
