RESOLUTION NO. 1622
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES CUUNTY,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE SALARIES OF
HOWARD SIDDALL AND VIRGIL SP+IITH.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the '.pater Department of the City of Azusa
is now operating with one less employee than formerly by
reason of which fact, the work of Howard Siddall, as pump -
man, has greatly increased, and
WHEREAS, Virgil Smith, Construction Superintendent
and Assistant Superintendent of Light and Water Departments
of the City of Azusa, has during the past year and while
holdinm such office, demonstrated his ability and efficiency
and has greatly increased the efficiency of thossdepartments,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the salary of Howard
Siddall, as pumpman, be fixed at ?140. per month and that
of Virgil Smith, as Construction Superintendent and Assistant
Superintendent of Light and Water Departments, be fixed at
X225.00 per month, effective as of July 1, 1939.
Said employees shall hold such employment at the
pleasure of said Council. Upon termination of any employ-
ment hereunder, whether by reason of death, action of the
Council declaring the employment vacated, declaring the
termination thereof or for any reason whatsoever, such
employee shall be paid to the date of such termination only
(and not for any unexpired portion of the then calendar
month) such payment for that month to be at a per diem rate
from and including the first day of the then calendar month
in the same proportion of the amount of his salary as the
days employed by the said employee in that month bear to
30 days.
The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City
Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption
thereof.

City Council in said City on the 17th dayof July, 1939,
