A RESOLUTION OF.THE CITY,COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF-AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO REPRESENT -SAID CITY AT HEARING BEFORE

IFORNIA..,
The City Council of the City,of,Azusa does resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS, the Santa Fe,Transporation Company, a
California corporation, and a.subsidiary of The Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, has filed application
with the Railroad Commission of the State of California
requesting authority to operate a passenger stage service
between Los Angeles and San Bernardino, via.U: S. Highway
No. 66 and Arrow Highway, for the purpose of supplementing
and coordinating such service with its present coordinated
rail and bus service in California and to round out its
general system of bus operation; and
WHEREAS, said Santa Fe Transportation Company is
asking to furnish the above mentioned territory with a
superior coordinated transportation system and a needed
additional transportation service; and
WHEREAS, said The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway Company has been in operation in this territory
supplying passenger and freight'service for a great many
years and is a most vital and necessary transportation system
to this community and the. State of California;,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the above
mentioned application has the whole -hearted endorsement and
approval of the members of the City Council of the City of
Azusa, California, because of the fact that the proposed

additional transportation facilities above mentioned con-
stitute a public convenience and necessity and will be of
great benefit to our community,
Vfl=EFORE, Albert H. Miller, City Attorney of the
said City of Azusa, California, is hereby authorized to pre-
sent a certified copy of this Resolution and to appear and
testify in support thereof at hearings to be held by the
Railroad Commission of the State of California on said
application.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign
this resolution and the City Clerk attest and certify to the
passage and adoption thereof.

I hereby certify that'the foregoing resolution
was regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held in the
regular Council Chambers of said City Council in said City
on the 20th day of March, 1939 and that the same was passed
by the following vote of the Council:
