A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
AZUSA ASSIGNING THE DUTIES AND FIXING THE
SALARY OF WALTER H. LOVEDACE AS POLICEMAN ON
THE POLICE FORCE OF SAID CITY AND RESCINDING
APART OF_RF,SOLUTION N0. 1828:
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS Walter H'. Lovelace now a member, -of the -Police
Force of the City, of Azusa des.ires.a change in the nature of
his -work. on said police force; and whereas it is agreeable,
with the City.Council that;suell change of work be granted.
Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Azusa that the, duties of,Walter H. Lovelace on the police
force of the City of Azusa shall hereafter include the polic-
ing of the city 'parks and all the several city properties
and to perform such otter duties as the Chief of Police of
the City of Azusa may assign to him:- And his salary as such
police officer is hereby fixed as .the sum of $150.00 per
month, the above appointment being effe.etive .as of October
1, 1944, and said Walter Lovelace shall hold the position to
which he has been assigned at the pleasure of the City Council.
Upon the termination of his employment whether by reason of
death, action of the Council in declarint;-the position
vacant or declaring the termination of employment or by any
reason whatsoever, whether herein specifically set forth or
not, said employee shall•be paid to the date of such termin-
ation only and not f'or any unexpired portion of the then
calender month, such payment for that portion to be in that
proportion of ,the employeels compensation.as the number of
days which the said employee has been employed in that month
bear to 30 days.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No.. 1828 so -
far as the same relates to the employment of said Walter
Lovelace and to his salary be.,in the same is.hereby rescinded;
that in all other respects -however, said Resolution No. 1828
shall remain in full force and effect.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that 'the Mayor shall sign this
Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest same and certify
to the passage and -adoption thereof.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City
of Azusa at a regular meeting of said City Council of said
City held in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council
in said City on October 2, 1944, and that the same was passed
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer.
Morden, Lamm.
NOES: None
