HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1831i RESOLUTION NO. 1831 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE, BY SAID CITY FOR USE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF AN AUTOMOBILE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Police Department of the.City of Azusa is in urgent need of an automobile in order that It may be enabled to perform its work efficiently, and WHEREAS, the directed the Clerk. for the purchase of by law, and City Council of said City has heretofore of said City'to publish notice for bids such automobile for the period required WHEREAS, publication of such notice has been had in the legal newspaper for said City for the period required by law, and WHEREAS, no bids were received upon such publications, and WHEREAS, it is urgently necessary that the Police Department do have an automobile to replace automobiles which can no longer be efficiently used in said Department, and WHEREAS, the City Council is advised that the MORGAN MOTOR COMPANY of Pasadena, California, now has available one car which can be purchased by the City for $1856.35. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that the City purchase and does hereby purchase the Packard 6 4 -door sedan from the Morgan Motor Company at the price of $1856.35. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED;?that a state of emergency exists in the City of Azusa and that a great public calamity is pending by reason of the fact that the City Police Department cannot efficiently perform its work because of lack of sufficient transportation, and that the public interest and necessity demand the immediate purchase of such automobile and the expenditure of the necessary money to purchase the same.
