HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1830RESOLUTION NO. 1830 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE CHIEF, ASSISTANT CHIEF, CAPTAIN AND VOLUNTEER FIREMEN OF THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF AZUSA. WHEREAS, Section 31 of Ordinance No. 340 of the City of Azusa entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, regulating the mire Department of said City and repealing all inconsistent provisions of prior ordinances," provides for the compensation of officers and men until further order of the Council by ordinance or resolution, and WHEREAS, in the judgment of the City Council of the City of Azusa, the compensation as fixed in said Section 31 should be changed, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows, to -wit: 1. That the compensation of the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Azusa be and the same is hereby fixed at $25.00 per month. 2. That the salary of the Assistant Chief shall be and is hereby fixed at x$3.00 per fire responded to between the hours of 6 A.M. and 9 P.M., and x$4.00 for each fire responded to between the hours of 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. That the Assistant Chief be paid the sum of $5.00 per fire responded to during the absence of the Chief and at which fire such Assistant Chief is acting as the Chief of the Fire Department. 3. That the Captain or Captains of said Fire Department be paid at the rate of $3.00 per fire responded to between the hours of 6 A.M. and 9 P.M., and the sum of X4.00 per fire responded to between the hours of 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. 4. That all other firemen shall be paid at the rate of $2.50 per fire responded to between the hours of 6 A.M. and 9 P.M., and the sum of $3.50 per fire responded to between the hours of 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. 5. That men otherwise employed by the City when after working hours in service at fires as regularly appointed firemen, shall be paid the sum of 03.50 per fire. 6. That the regular engineers at the station shall be paid $2.50 per fire responded to only at such times as they are not on duty and between the hours of 6 A.M. and 9 P.M. and the sum of $3.50 per fire responded to between the hours of 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. -1- The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify to the passage and adoption thereof. Hynes, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said City Council held in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council in said City on July 17, 1944, and that the same was passed and adopted by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm.
