A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
THE OFFICE OF CHIEF OF POLICE VACANT AND APPOINTING
MILO T. HAWKINS TO THE OFFICE OF CHIEF OF POLICE
AND FIXING HIS SALARY, ALSO APPOInTTTNG FRED E.
WILLIAMS TO THE OFFICE OF CAPTAIN OF POLICE AND
FIXING HIS SALARY.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Azusa that the office of Chief of Police of the City of
Azusa be and the same is hereby declared vacant: that
Milo T. Hawkins be and he is hereby appoint@d as Chief
of Police at a salary of $245.00 per month, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Fred E. Williams be
and he is hereby appointed to the office of Captain of
Police of the City at a salary of $225.00 per month.
BE.IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of employment
and compensation shall be subject to the further action of
the City Council at any time and that each.employee shall
hold his office at the pleasure of the Council.
AT THE TERMINATION OF THE EMPLOYMENT of the respective
employees whether by reason of death, action of the City Council
in declaring the position vacant or declaring the termination
thereof or for any reason whatsoever whether herein specifically
mentioned or not, said employees shall be paid to the date of
such termination only and not for any unexpired portion of the
then calendar month, such payment for such month to be in that
proportion of the employee's compensation as the number of days
which the employee has served in that month bears to 30 days.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolution heretofore
enacted by the City Council respecting the salary of an employee
in thus resolution named, is hereby rescinded so far as said
resolution refers to.salary of such employee, --
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this
Resolution and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption thereof.
I, M. A. Hynes, City Clerk of the City of Azusa,
Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the
City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of
said City Council held in the regular Council. Chambers of
said City Council in said.City on •Tuly 10, 1944 and that
the same was passed and adopted by the following vote of
the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden,
Lamm.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None.
