HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 18211 RESOLUTION NO. 1821 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AGREEING TO CERTAIN TERMS WITH THE 4 UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT THROUGH ITS UNITED STATES E MINEER OFFICE FOR REINFORCING THE 5 CITY 15 LIGHT AND POPPER SYSTEM AND FOR THE FURTHER EXTENSION THEREOF. 6 7 8 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Azusa to 9 reinforce the City's light and power system by reason of 10 increased use of electricity At the Azusa Polymer Plant, and 11 WHEREAS, in order to reinforce said system it will 12 be necessary to replace certain light and power lines and 13 extensions to certain light and power lines within said City, 14 and 15 \ WHEREAS, the City Engineering Department has made 16 tentative arrangements for the construction and payment of 17 said lines and extensions with the United States Government 18 through the United States District Engineer office at Los 19 Angeles, California, which arrangements and agreements are 20 embodied in a letter dated April 27, 1944, addressed to the 21 District Engineer, United States Engineer office, 751 South 22 Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, and signed "City of Azusa by 23 Paul E). Kresely, City Engineer," and in the reply from said 24 United States Engineer Office dated April 29, 1944, which 25 reply is signed "Jerome Hodge for Walter A. McComber, Chief, 26 Service Division," and 27 WHEREAS, the terms and conditions as embodied in 28 said letters are satisfactory with the City Council of the 29 City of Azusa, 30 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the 31 City of Azusa as follows: 32 (1) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. (Continued) That the terms and conditions for reinforcing the City'e light and power system, which terms and conditions are embraced in said letters dated April 27, 1944 and April 29, 1944 hereinbefore referred to, are hereby approved and made binding upon the United States Government and the United States Engineer Office and upon the City of Azusa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be mailed by the City Clerk to the United States Ergineer Office, 751 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify to the passage and adoption thereof. Raymond'.
