HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - July 31, 1924 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. July 31st, 1924 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. City Clerk and City Attorney. Absent: None. The reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dispensed with. The following Resolution was presented. RESOLVED: That the President of the Board ' of Trustees and.the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, be and they are hereby authorized to make and execute and deliver in the name of said. City and as its Municipal act and deed an agreement of co ncellation of the lease here- tofore entered into between said City and Union Rock Company, a corporation, on the 30th day of October, 1922, and referred to and mentioned in an agreement of said City dated October 11, 1923, and recorded November 28, 1923, in Book 2865 at Page 219 of Official records of the County of Los Angeles; State of California. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees. Moon, Meier, Case, Chemweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Abse nt : None. On motion duly carried Jack Pierce and Irene Barnes were granted vacation commencing August 4th, 1924. On mation the application of C. H. LaVerte for permission to construct a driveway into pro- perties of C. C. Carpenter and Geo. Geekie was granted; such work to be done under the Super- vision of the Street Superintendent. A On motion the application of Chas. Littleton .for permission to construct a driveway into his property on Dalton venue was granted; such work S' be done under the supervision of the Street Superintendent. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THE OFFICE OF PARK SUPERINTENDEl1'I' VACA14T AND 1 PPOINTING MAURICE JONES TO THAT OFFICE AND FIXING HIS SALARY OR COMPENSATION. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the followirg vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chemweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. It was moved that Trustee Case and Meier be 4uthorized to expend not to exceed $200.00 for advertising purposes and to take up with the Chamber of Commerce the matter of donation for advertising purposes. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent: None. On motion the Board adjourned. 8:30 P. M. RESOLUTION NO. 798 ADOPTED. 365 JACK PIERCE AND IRENE B. BARNES GRANTED VACA- TIONS. C. C. CARPENTER AND GEO.GEEKIE GRAN TED PERMISSION TO CONSTRUCT DRIVEWAY. CHAS. LITTLETON GRANTED PERMISSION TO CONSTRUCT DRIVEWAY. RESOLUTION NO. 192 - TRUSTEES CASE AND MEIER TO TAKE UP MATTER OF EXPENDING $200.00 FOR ADVERTISING PURPOSES.
