A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.TO BE
-HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, q `
1944, AND GIVING'A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE
VOTING PRECINCTS AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING
PLACES; FIXING THE TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE
OPEN; APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THERE-
FOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH
ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
That there be held in the City of Azusa, California, on
Tuesday the 1-Ith day of April, 1944', a general municipal
election by the qualified electors of said City of Azusa for
the purpose of electing the following City Officers, to -wit:
Two members of the City Council
for a full term of four years.
One member of the City Council
for a short term of two years.
One City Clerk for a full term
of four years.
One City Treasurer for a full
term of four ,years.
Be it further resolved that the number of voting
precincts for the purpose of holding said election shall be
two, to be known as Consolidated Election Precincts "A" and
"B". Said Consolidated Election Precinct "A" shall consist
of Azusa City Precincts Nos. 1-2 and 7 so designated and
approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for
State and County election purposes, and the polling place
for said Consolidated Election Precinct "A" is hereby located
in the City Hall Building in Block 30 of the City of Azusa,
Los Angeles County, Galifornia, between Alameda'Avenue and
Dalton Avenue. Said Consolidated Election Precinct T'B"
shall consist of Azusa City Precincts Nos. 3-4-5 and 6 so
designated and approved by the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors, for State and County election purposes, and the
polling place for Consolidated Election Precinct "B" is
hereby located in the 'Riley School Building in Block 49 of
the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, C-alifornia, between
Pasadena Avenue and Soldano Avenue.
That the Board of Election for such Consolidated
Election Precinct "A" is hereby appointed as follows:
Inspector: Marie L. Pettyiohn
Judge: Margery H. pucker
Clerk:—Ne_ttie__M_. Heth
Clerk: Ethel M. Kuhn
That the Board of Election for such Consolidated.
Election Precinct "B" is hereby appointed as follows:
Inspector: Virginia Memmesheimer
Judge: Florence E. Mendenhall
Clerk: India Sears
Clerks Madeline C. 11ilson
That the,polls of -.said election must be opened at
7 o'clock A.M. of the date of election and.must,be kept
open until 7 o'clock P.M. of said day, when the polls
shall be closed except and, provided however.that if at the
hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling
place or in line at the door who are qualified to vote and
have not been able to do so since their appearing, the
polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them
to vote.
That notice of this election and list of nominees
shall be published by the City Clerk as regi.iired by law in
the Azusa Herald and Pomotronic.
Be it further resolved that the Mayor shall sign
this Resolution and the City.Clerk attest and certify to
the passage and adoption thereof.
Approved and adopted 'this 21st day of February, 1944.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Azusa .at a regular meeting of the said Council held in the
regular Council Chambers of said City Council in said City
on the 21st day of February, 1944, and that the same was
passed by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Oweris, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
