HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1813i RESOLUTION NO. 1813 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusa awarding the contract for furnishing transformers and other appurtenances for a substation to be constructed at the plant of the American Cyanamid & Chemical Corp. within said City. The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: This City Council hereby finds and declares that -the lowest, regular, responsible bidders for furnishing transformers and other appurtenances for the construction of a substation at.the plant of the American Cyanamid & Chemical Corp. within the City of Azusa in accordance with bids submitted therefor on January 3,1944 are the General Electric Company and Maydwell & Hartzell,Inc.; and this Council hereby awards the contract for furnishing said equipment to said firms at theprices named in the respective bids submitted, as follows: TO THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, the following equipmen-t to -wit: For one (1) 50 kva, single phase, 5A cycle, oil -filled transformer, Type H, primary voltage 11500, secondary voltage 115/230, with 2=2% taps..............................:..4397.80 For three (3) 333 kva, single phase, 50 cycle, Type H, oil -filled transformers, primary voltage 11500,second- ary voltage 230/460, with 2-2% taps, each $1464.38 or total of $4393.14 For three (3) pellet type lightning arresters for 11500 volt, ungrounded neutral circuit, ea.$18.90 or total of 56.70 For the following metering equipment for 11500 volts, and a load of 1500 M., a (a) For two (2) outdoor, compound -filled, current transformers, Type JK -6, each $85.56 or total of........ 171.12 (b) For two (2) oilefilled, potential transformers, Catalog 79X.667, Type E--235 with two cover bush- ings:, each $92.31 or a total of ......................... 184.62 TO MAYDWELL & HATZELL,INC., the following equipment to -wit: For one (1) Kelman oil circuit breaker Type Y151, 15 KV, 200 Amp., with series rip coil., hand opera- ted, complete with oil ...... .................................. 262.00 All other bids! submitted, including bids received on other items, except those mentioned.herein,submitted by the General Electric Company and Maydwell & Hat.zell, Inc., are hereby rejectedand the City Clerk is hereby alhthorized and directed to return the certified or cashier's checks 1. which accompanied the bids of the VAsuccessful bidders, but to retain the check of the General Electric Company and that of Maydwell & Hartzell, Inc, until the equipment to be furnished by them in accordance with the award made>;herein shall have been delivered to the City of Azusa, The City Council hereby determines and declares that the bids re— ceived e— ceived for one watt—hour recording demand meter were not in accordance with the advertisement and specifications therefor, and said.Council hereby orders and directs the Superintendent of the Water & Light Depart— went of said City to go into the open market to purchase said meter at to a cost 0$ not/exceed $100.00 . The City Council further orders the Superintendent of said Water & Light Dept. not to place the orders for said equipment herein mention- ed until authority and permission has been received from the War Produc— tion Hoard to construct said substation. The Mayor,and"City Clerk of-. said City are hereby authorized and directed to'sign the contract for said furnishing of equipment for and on behalf of the City of Azusa.
