A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COU"L ,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF TBE
OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS CF THE VOTERS
CF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELWTION HEM
IN SAID CITI ON APRIL 13, 19546
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
tMMS, a General Municipal Election was held and donducted in the City of
Azusa, Los Angoles County, State of California, on Tuesday, thel3th day of April,
1954, as required by law; and
WHERE.IS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and regularly given
and that there were eight voting precincts established for said election consisting
of consolidation of regular city precincts for holding State and Comity elections as
regular city precincts for holding State and County elections as the same were and
are established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California; that
election officials were appointed and election supplies furnished and that in all
respects said election was held and conducted and returns thereof made and declared
in tilme, form and manner as required by the General Election haws of the State of
California governing eleettions in cities of the fifth and sixth classes; and
WHKMAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council Chambers of
said Council on Tuesday, the 20th day of Apri3., 1954, to canvass the returns of said
election and install the newly elected officers, whereupon said Council found that
the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, the result of said
election and other matters required by law to be as hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved and declared as follows:
That said regular Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of
Azusa, California, on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 1954, in the time, form and
manner as required by law.
That there were eight voting precincts established for the purpose of holding
said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election precincts estab-
lished for holding eneral, state and county elections.
That the whole number of votes cast ins aid election in said City of Azusa
was 21091 Number of absentee ballots 31 totaling 2140.
That the nam s of the persons voted f or, the offices for which they were voted,
and the number of votes which were received in the entire City of Azusa, are as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED and determined that at said General Municipal Election
Caci1 V. Romero, Clarence H. Fawcett and Mrs, Martha M. Johnson were each elected to
the office of member of the City Council of the City of Azusa, Californi.aj each for
a term of four years; that Proposition No. 1 was carried with a majority vote and is
hereby declared to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 2 of the Initiative
Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa; that Proposition No. 2 was carried by a
majority vote and is hereby declared to be pasted and adopted as an amendment to Sub-
division (e) of Section 3 of the -Lnitiative Civil Service Ordinance of the City of
Azusa; that Proposition ITO, 3 tras•carried with a majority vote and is hereby declared
to be passed and adopted as an amendment to Section 7 of the Initiative Civil service
Ordinance of the City of Azusa.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately take and deliver
to each of said persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by him and duly
authen'Licated; that he shall also impose, or have imposed, and constitutional oath of
office upon said persons so elected as members of the City Council and have them
subscribe thereto and file the same in said offices thatthereupon, each end all of said
persons so electedto said respective offices shall be inducted in said respective
office to which they have been elected; that Propositions No. 1, 2 and 3 are hereby
declared to be effective amendments to that part of Initiative Civil Service Ordinance
of the City of Azusa as hereinbefore set forth,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Azusa shall sign this
Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the some and certify to the passage and
adoption thereof.
