HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2976RESOLUTION NO, 290- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY" OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, SPATE OPS CALIFORNIA, RE FURNISHING OF UNIFORMS TO MEMBERS OF THE POLICE AND F1RE'DEP*RTMKRTS - OF THE CITY OF- AZUSA, The City Council of the City .of Azusa" -does xhereby resolve as followse Section 1. Whereas, certain c6nfusioft'has heretofore arisen regarding the furnishing of uniforms by the City of Azusa to members of the Police and Fire Departments, Seotion_2, It is resolved that subject to change by the City Council the following shall be the polio$ of the City of Azusa regarding uniforms. Section 3. Upon becoming full the employees of the Azusa Police of Fire Departments, probationary employees shall provide their own uniforms and at the end of their probationary period and after becoming regular members and at the end'of each year of service they shall be furnished not more than two pair of pants, three shirts and one cap by the Clay of Azusa, upon order of the head of their department. .After eompbting their probationary period and they have become regular members, they shall receive one uniform jacket, and at -the end of each three years of service they shall be furnished not more than one uniform dress jacket by the City of Azusa, upon order of the head of their department. In case of termination of their employment, all uniforms and parte'thereof purchased.by the City shall be returned to the City by said employees prior to their receiving their final payment of salary. Upon order of the head of their department any member may be furnished a uniform or any part thereof damaged or destroyed in the line of duty. Section 4. Emergency war time employees of the Police Department shall likewise furnish their own uniforms and at the end of six months and each year thereafter they shall be furnished not more than two pairs of pants; three shirts and one cap by the City of Azusa, upon order of the head of .their department, Upon termination of their employment, all uniforaha and parts thereof, shall be returned to the -City by said emergency employees prior to their receivit*g final payment of aalary. Upon order of the head of their dep$rtment said emergency employees shall likewise be.furnished a uniform, or any part thereof, damaged -or destroyed in the line of duty, Section 5. Members of the Fire fpartment on a part-time basis shall furnish their own uniforms, Section 6, It is further resolved that Resolution Number 2524 of the City of Azusa be, and the same is hereby rescinded, Section 6*, A dress uniform fasr the Chief and Assistant Chief of the Fire Department is to -be furnished,by the City, same to be returned to City when employment ceases, x, r r. 2- Secttoitj.''
