M.'385 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Trustees: Meier, Case, Chenoweth, City attorney and City Clerk. Absent. Trustees: Peirce and Moon. The Minutes of the meeting held August 18th, 1924 were read and approved as read. On motion duly carried the application of Mr. aPPLICATIOF POR POOL, BILL - L. G. Mider for a pool, billiard and bowling IARD :ND BOWLING LICENSE.RE- license was referred to the Sanitary and Police FERRED TO THE SANITARY AND Committee with power to act. POLICE COMMITTEE WITH POWER Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: TO ACT. Meier, ­Case, Chenpweth. Noes: None. Absent: Trustees: Moon.and Peirce. Trustee Moon now present. It was moved and carried that the Edison Co. be EDISON COMPANY REQUESTED TO requested to remove their pole line from Irwin- REMOVE POLE LINE. dale Avenue between First Street and Broadway to Motor Avenue. On motion duly carried J. E. Lee, F. VQ. Zerrell LEE, ZERRELL, AND PIERCE and H. L. Pierce were granted two weeks vacation GRANTED VACATIONS. commencing September 15th, 1924 On motion duly carried City Attorney H. P. Good- CITY ATTORNEY H. P. GOODWIN win was granted a leave of absence on Sept. 15th,GRANTED LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 1924. On motion duly carried City Clerk, J. 0. Durrell CITY CLERK J. 0. DURRELL was granted a two weeks vacation commencing GRANTED VACATION AND LEAVE Sept. 6, 1924 and also an additional leave of ab -OF ABSENCE. Bence of one week. It was moved that the Water and Light Supt. be authorized to purchase the following supplies: 20 5 amp._ -110 volt light meters 2 220 volt power meters WATER AND LIGHT SUPT. 2. dozen rolls of P. & B. tape AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE 6. dozen 3/4 inch service cocks SUPPLIES. 4 dozen 3/4 inch corporation cocks 4 dozen 2 inch clamps Material to build fence around Owl plant transformer bank. Barker, Consulting Electrical and Mechanical Engineer of the City of Azusa be instructed to make an estimate of the cost of the following Municipal improvements, to - wit: The acquisition, construction and completion of light and power works and plants in the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth. Noes: None. Absent: 'Trustee: Peirce. It was moved that James E. Barker, Consulting Electrical and Mechanical Engineer of the City of Azusa, be. -instructed to make an estimate of the cost of the following Municipal improvements, to -wit: The acquisition, construction and com- pletion of water works. in the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case,.Chenoweth. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee: Peirce. Mr. Barker presented the following report: CONSULTING ENGINEER IN- STRUCTED TO MAKE ESTIMATE OF COST OF MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS. CONSULTING ENGINEER IN- STRUCTED TO AL ESTIMATE OF COST OF MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS. 386 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 2nd, 1924 7:30 P. M. 387 Azusa, California, September 2, 1924. To the Board of Trustees, of the City of Azusa. Gentlemen: Pursuant to your instructions to make an estimate of the cost of certain Mun- icipal improvements I hereby estimate the cost of the same to be as follows: For the acquisition, construction 'and completion of light and power works and plants in the City of Azusa, I estimate the cost to be in the sum of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars. Mr. Barker presented the following report: Azusa, California, September 2, 1924 To the Board of Trustees, of the City of Azusa. Gentlemen: Pursuant to your instructions to make,an estimate of the cost of certain Mun- icilal improvements I hereby estimate the cost of the same to be as follows: For the acquisition, construction and completion of waterworks in the City of Azusa, I estimate the cost to be in the sum of Seventy-five Thousand 1$75,000.00) Dollars. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INT- EREST -AND kECESSITY DEMAND THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY OF AZUSA, OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS, TO -WIT: THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF LIGHT AND POWER WORKS AND PLANTS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, THE COST OF WHICH WILL BE TOO GREAT TO BE PAID OUT OF THE ORDINARY ANNUAL INCOME AND REVENUE OF SAID CITY. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF MR. BARBER'S REPORT. MR. BARKER'S REPORT. RESOLUTION NO. 794 ADOPTED. 388 I� MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 'SEPTEMBER 2nd, 1924. 7:30 P. M. 389 CALIFORNIA, DETERkINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST.AND NECESSITY DKUND THE AC- QUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY OF AZUSA, OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS, TO -WIT: THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COM- PLETION OF WATERWORKS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, THE COST OF WHICH WILL BE TOO GREAT TO BE PAID OUT OF THE ORDINARY ANYUAL INCOME AND REVENUE. OF SAID CITY. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee: Peirce. It was moved that Mr. Case be appointed a committee of one to take up with the Santa Fe Railway Company the matter of transportation. The following Resolution was presented: RESOLVED: THAT WHEREAS, James 7. Regan, as County Flood Control Engineer, has done and is doing excellent and efficient work for the County of Los Angeles; WHEREAS, the City of Azusa has good reason to know of the quality of the services of Mr. Reagan and to realize the great value of said services; WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of -the City of Azusa, Mr. Reagan is being inadequately compensated for said services; and, . WHEREAS, it is the consensus of opin- ion of the citizens of said City that the salary ' of Mr. Reagan should be raised to $15,000.00 per annum -- NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do now declare its confidence in Mr. Reagan and its appreciation of his ability and do respectfully suggest and reuommeud. to the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County that the salary of Mr. Reagan be raised and fixed at the sum of $"15,000.00 per annum. That the President of this Board be and he is hereby authorized to transmit a copy of this resolution.to said Board of Supervisors and a copy to Mr. Reagan and also to the press. Absent: Trustee: Peirce. It was moved that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for RESOLUTION NO. 795 ADOPTED. MR. CASE TO TAKE UP MATTER OF TRANSPORTATION WITH SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY. RESOLUTION NO. 796 ADOPTED. 390 The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF $107.97 FRbM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC SYSTEM BOND FUND. The Resolution was read. On motion the same was adopted as read. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth. Noes: None; Absent: Trustee: Peirce. The following Resolution was presented: A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF l"1000.00 FROM 1HE GENERAL FUND TO THE RATER FUND.
