Present at roll call: Trustees: Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Absent: Trustee: Moon, City Clerk and City Attorney. On motion duly carried Ella Aguilar was appoint- ed City Clerk pro -tem to act during the meeting in the absence of City Clerk J. 0. Durrell. 'The minutes of the meeting held September 2nd, and of the meeting held Sept. 4th, 1924 were read and approved as read. Trustee: Moon now present. On motion duly carried the application of Pete Gonzales for the removal of a pepper tree from the parkway in front of his place of business Lots 5,6 and 7, Block 27 was referred to the Planning Commission for report. The request for the removal of a light pole was referred to the Superintendent of the Water and Light Dept. with power to act. The request for moving gasoline pump was granted. And the request for permission to cut curb for constructing driveway was granted; such work to be done under the supervision of the Street Superintendent. 7:30 P. On motion duly carried the request of the Mexi- can Colony made through Mr. Muehe for permission to close Alameda Avenue between 3rd and 4th Sts. for dance purposes on September 16, 1924 was granted and the City Clerk, pro -tem was instruct- ed to notify the parties interested of such permit being granted. M. 397 The following Ordinance was presented: AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN'THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ON THE 26th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1924, AND SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING A BONDED DEBT IN THE SUM OF SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND 075,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE ACQUISITION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY OF AZUSA OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IM- PROVEMENTS TO -WIT: THE ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND COM- PLETION OF WATERWORIS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA; 'PROVIDING.FOR THE ISSUE OF BONDS THEREFOR AND FOR THE LEVY OF A.TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID BONDS; DESIGNATING THE ELECTION PRECINCT AND POLLING PLACE,.AND APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR SAID ELECTION. The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be declared read for the first time and laid over to next meeting. On motion duly carried the request of Mr. Keith Vosburg for the use of the Council Chamber for a meeting of the Boy Scouts was granted. It was regularly moved and carried that when the Board adjourn it adjourn to meet Sept. 19, 1924 at 7:30 P. M. It was moved and seconded that the watering of trees on San Gabriel Avenue and Sixth Street be 'placed under the direction of the Park Superin- tendent and that the necessary help needed for such watering shall be communicated to Mr. Lee and that the Chairman of the Public Works Committee be instructed to communicate the wishes of the Board to the parties interested. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent' None.
