.The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call: Trustees: Meier, Case,
Chenoweth, Peirce, City Clerk and City Attorney.
Absent: Trustee: Moon.
The minutes of the meeting held September 16th,
1924 were read and approved as read.

A communication was received from the Owl Fumi- C011MUIIICATION FROM OWL
gating Corporation relative to power charges ?UMIGATING CORP. REFERRED
and the same was referred to Consulting Engineer, TO JAMES B. BARER.
James E. Barker.
On motion duly carried E. H. Maeding was granted E. H. MAEDING AND ELLA
a two weeks vacation commencing Oct. 15th, and AGUILAR GRANTED VACATIONS.
Ella Aguilar was granted a one week vacation
commencing Oct. 20th, 1924.
The request of Mrs. Geo. 'ilellman for permission 1.23. GEO. 'IlELLMAN GRANTED
to remove a lemon tree from the parkway in front PERMISSION TO REMOVE LEMON
of her residence was granted. TREE FROM PARKWAY.
A letter was received from the Chamber of LETTER FROM CHAMBER OF
Commerce relative to the matter of re -numbering COhMERCE RELATIVE TO
buildings and on motion duly carried the City iSATTER OF RE -NUMBERING
Clerk was instructed to notify the Chamber of BUILDINGS DISAPPROVED.
Commerce that the suggestion was disapproved.
On motion duly carried the request of the REQUEST OF LIBRARY BOARD
Library Board for additional lights in the Library VOR ADDITIONAL LIGHTS IN
Park was referred to the Superintendent of Light LIBRARY PARI: REFERRED TO
and Water Departments to report at next meeting. SUPT. OF L. & W. DEPTS.
It was moved that the President and Clerk be
authorized to execute an agreement of sale for
the purchase of a Dodge Touring car for the use
of the Police Department.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees:
Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent:
Trustee: Moon.

USE OF THE POLICE DEPT.
A letter was read from the Park Superintendent I0ATTER OF CUTTING BACK
relative to the matter of cutting back the pepper PEPPER TREES ON CENTER
trees on Center Street and on motion duly carried STREET REFERRED TO PARK
the matter was referred to the Park Superintendent SUPT. 'IIITH POWER TO ACT.
with power to act.
The request for the placing of a street light
near the Clinic was granted and the same was re-
ferred to the Light Superintendent.

Meier, Case, Chenoweth, Peirce. Noes: None. Absent:
Trustee: Moon.
Trustee Moon now present.
On motion duly carried the complaint of L. T.
Harnde•n relative to poultry at 728 Azusa Avenue
was referred to the Health Inspector.
'The request of Mr. Baker for permission to re-
move eight pepper trees from the parkway in front
of his property on Azusa Avenue was referred to
the Planning Commission.
The request of Mr. H. H. Thompson for permission
to use the City Auditorium for religious purposes
was granted. A charge of :1.00 per night to be
made.
Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees.

Absent: None.

authorized to purchase the following
supplies:
50 concrete meter boxes
6 4 inch by 2 inch bushings
24 6 inch valve caps
1 gas heater
12 radiant balls
1 5 K.Y.A. transformer
2 coils Y8 wire
25 guy gards

The following Ordinance was presented:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING A CITY PLANNING COI;IIISSION FOR
SAID CITY, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTI;aNT THERE-
OF, AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES.
The Ordinance was read.
It was moved that the Ordinance be declared
read for the first time and laid over to next
meeting.

The following Resolution was presented:
RESOLVED:
That without otherwise modify-
ing, impairing or effecting the agreement here-
tofore entered into between the City of Azusa
and F. S. Lack that the time therein specified
within which said F. 3. Lack was to have raised
and impounded the sum of 4240,000.00 be and
the same is hereby extended for an additional
period of six (6) months from its present ex-
piration date in accordance with the written
request of said F. S. Lack, dated October 31,
1924 and the City Clerk is authorized to notify
Mr. F. S. Lack of this action by furnishing him
a certified copy of this Resolution.
