RESOLUTION NO. 3027
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
CONSENTING TO THE ANNEXATION BY THE CITY OF
GLENDORA OF THAT TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 1.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
the City of Azusa, a request that the legislative body of the City
of Azusa consent to the annexation by the City of Glendora, of
that certain territory described as Southerly Annexation District
No. 1 and there has been transmitted with said consent a copy of
the resolution of intention to annex said territory including a
full legal description thereof, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 35304.5 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the consent of the
legislative body of the City of Azusa shall first be obtained
before said annexation can become effective.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
the City of Azusa, as follows;
SECTION 1;
That consent is hereby given to the City of Glendora for
the annexation by the City of Glendora of that certain territory
described as Southerly Annexation District No. 1 and more
particularly described in Resolution No. 990 of the City of
Glendora.
SECTION 2;
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be
in force.

BE IT RESOLVED by the May-
r and Council of the City of
Rendora, California, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to the provisions
f the Annexation of Uninhabited
.'erritory Act of 1939, proceed-
ngs have been initiated by the
;ouncil of the City of Glendora
,n its own motion, to -annex to
he city of Glendora all that un-
nhabited territory situated in the
:ounty of Los Angeles, state of
;ahfornia hereby designated as
southerly Annexation District No.
1, and described as follows.
Beginning at the intersection
of the easterly boundary of the
city of Glendora as same exist-
ed on April 28, 1954, with the
westerly prolongation of the
southerly line of Gladstone
Street (formerly Gladstone Av-
enue) 60 feet wide as shown on
map of H. D. Blanchard Tract
recorded in Book 8, Page 160
of Maps in the office of the Re-
corder of the county of Las An-
geles; thence easterly along said
prolongation, southerly line and
easterly prolongation thereof to
the center line of Phillips' Ditch
as shown on map of Subdivision
of the Re Addition to San Jose
and a Portion of the Re San
Jose recorded in Book 22, Pages
21 and 22 of Miscellaneous
Records in the office of said re-
corder; thence northerly and
northeasterly along said center
line to the southeasterly corner
of the parcel of land as describ-
ed in Document 6393-S and en,
tered on Certificate of Title No.
WV -84437 on file in the office
of the Registrar of Titles of said
county; thence northeasterly
along the southeasterly line of
said parcel of land and north-
easterly prolongation thereof to
the easterly prolongation of the
northerly line of Dawson Av-
enue, 60 feet wide, as shown on
said x ap
Tract; thence westerly along
said last mentioned prolonga-
tion and northerly line to the
northerly prolongation of the
easterly line of Lot I of said
tract; thence southerly in a di-
rect hne to the southeasterly
corner of Lot 4 of said tract;
thence westerly in a direct line
through the southwesterly cor-
ner of said Lot 4 to the bound-
ary of said city; thence south
erly along said boundary to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2:
That the Council of the City of
Glendora desires to annex said
uninhabited territory to the city
of Glendora for the following rea-
sons,
The territory is contiguous -to
the - city of- Glendora -within the
provisions of section 35304.5 of
the Government Code of the State
of California and the proposed
annexation will contribute to and
facilitate the orderly growth an

development of both the city and
the territory proposed to be an-
nexed; will facilitate and con-
tribute to the proper and orderly
ayout, design and construction of
streets, gutters and drainage fa-
cilities, both within the city and
within the territory proposed to
be annexed; and will provide and
facilitate -proper over-all plan-
ning and zoning of lands, and
subdivision of lands in said city
and said uninhabited territory, in
a manner most conducive to the
welfare of said city and said un-
inhabited territory.
SECTION 3:
That the County Boundary
Commission of Los Angeles Coun-
ty, California did in session duly
assembled on May 5, 1954 ap-
prove the proposed annexation
boundaries of said Southerly An-
nexation District No. I as above
described, and as submitted to
said Commission by the Council
of the City of Glendora.
SECTION 4:
That Tuesday, July 6, 1954 at
the hour of 7:30 o'clock p,tn. '
the Council Chambers in the City
Hall in the City of Glendora,
County of Los Angeles, Califor-
nia, is hereby fixed as the time,
and place, when and where any
person owning real property
within the uninhabited territory
above described and proposed to
be annexed to the city of Glen-
dora and having any objections
to the proposed annexation may
appear before the Council of the
City of Glendora and show cause
why such uninhabited territory
should not be so annexed to the
city of Glendora, such protests
must be in writing, may be filed
at any time before'the hour set
for hearing objections to the pro-
posed annexation and shall state
the name or names of the owner
or owners of property affected
and the description and area of
such property in general terms.
SECTION 5:

Glendora is hereby authorized
and directed to'cause a copy of
this resolution to be published at
least twice, but not oftener than
once a week in the Glendora
Press, a newspaper of general cir-
culation, published in said city of
Glendora, the city to which it is
proposed to annex the aforesaid
territory, and also in the Azusa
Herald and Pomotropic, a news-
paper of general circulation pub-
lished outside the city of Glen-
dora, but in the county of Los
Angeles, California, the county in
which is located the territory pro-
posed to be annexed to the city
of Glendora, said publication to
be completed at least twenty days
prior to the date set for hearing.
SECTION 6:
The City Clerk is further auth-
orized and directed to cause writ-
ten'notice of such proposed an-
nexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the
territory proposed to be annexed

recreation; and
