A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Azusa, Las
Angeles County, State of California, declaring tjXa.t the public
health, safety and necessity require the installation of -sewers
throughout the.City; instituting the planning -thereof; establishing
the "Public Works -Improvement Fund° -making an appropriation thereto;
and other `related matters.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does -revolve as follows:
WHEREAS: The people of Azusa,. together with the Cities of
(iendora, Covina, West 'Movina, and the adjacent unincorporated
territory did on September 15 1953, vote.to,form County Sanitation
District ko. 22,'and-the said district has been formed, and
WHEREAS.- The people of Azusa did affirmatively vote on -January
191 19541 by more than a two-thirds-majorlty, to issue $5,000,QO0 in
Bonds of the aforesaid County Sanitation District No. 22, and the said
Bonds have been issued, and
WHEREAS: THe Board of Directors of the aforesaid County
Sanitation -District Na. 22 has caused to be sold $4,000,000 of the
aforesaid Bonds, and - ,
WHEREAS.- The Board of Directors of the aforesaid County
SanitatVn District No. 22 will be required to levy a tax of approx-
imately`48i per $1QO.of_assessed value on all property• within the City
of Azusa:, and elsewhere applicable to the tax -bills for the year
1951-55, et seq., and
WHEREAS: The formation of the aforesaid County Sanitation
District No. 22, and,the-issue and- sale of the aforesaid Bonds of the
District, and the levy -and collection of the aforesaid tax by the
District will be a useless burden on'the,people of the City of Azusa
UNLESS the City of Azusa -is prepared, in good time .to connect a local
sewer system to the trunk lines to be -constructed by the aforesaid
County Sanitatioti District No. 22, now therefore, be it
RESOLVED; That the public health, safety, and necessity of the
People of the City of Azusa require the installation -of sewers through,
out the City, and be it further

RESOLVED: That for this, and related purposes, there is hereby
established the 'Public Works Improvement•Fund" of the City of Azusa,
and be it further
RESOLVED: That the sum of $250,000is hereby.appropriated arid
transferred to the aforesaid "Public Works Improvement Fund" of the
City of Azusa, and be it further,
RESOLVED: That the City Council 'through its•Mayar axed Commissionerof Public Works and its City engineer, is_ authbrized to enter into co- -
operative -arrangements with the Board of Directors -of. County Sanitation
District No. 22 and its •engineering staff, to the end that the.necessary
engineering and planning required to be done by -the City,of Azusa shall
be done as expeditiously and economically as.possible, and be it
further
RESOLVED. That the expenses necessarily incurred -in the afore-
said co-operative engineering and planning of the^required severs,shell
be a proper charge against the funds of the herein established "Public
Works Improvement Fund"' of•the City of Azusa, and ba`it•further
RESOLVED: That the -Mayor .shall sign this Resolution k2 sod'the
