RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN GRADING
AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CURBS,
GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAY APRONS
ON LOUISE AVENUE AND OTHER STREETS IN
THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA; DECLAR-
ING THE WORK TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL
OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT; DESCRIBING
THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID
WORK AND TO BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COST
AND EXPENSE THEREOF; DETERMINING THAT
BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT
ASSESSMENTS TO BE LEVIED; AND FIXING
THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS
AND OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR THE
EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED, OR
BOTH, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.

The City Council of the City of Azusa, California,
DOES.HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and conven-
ience require and that it is the intention of the City Council
of said City of Azusa to order the following work to be done
or improvement to be made in the City of Azusa, to wit:
Certain grading and the construction of certain
curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways on
ORANGE AVENUE,
between the northerly line of First Street and the westerly
prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 6, Tract No. 13963,
recorded in Map Book 2802 pages 20 and 21, official records of
Los Angeles County; on
LOUISE AVENUE,
between the boundary of the City of Azusa as the same now
exists and the northerly line of First Street;
Certain grading and the construction of certain
curbs, gutters.and sidewalks on
PARAMOUNT AVENUE,
between the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of
Lot 54, Tract No. 138242 recorded in Map Book 2752 pages 1 to 4,
official records of Los Angeles County and the southerly pro-
longation of the easterly line of Lot 18, said Tract No. 13824;
Certain grading and the construction of certain curbs,
and gutters on
GLADSTONE STREET,
between lines parallel to and distant easterly and westerly
from the prolongation of the center line southerly of Louise
Avenue a distance of approximately 60 feet; between the southerly
prolongation of the easterly line of Jackson Avenue and a line
parallel thereto and easterly therefrom a distance of approxi-
mately 20 feet; on
PARAMOUNT AVENUE,
between the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of
Jackson Avenue and a line parallel thereto and distant therefrom
approximately 30 feet;
Certain grading,'curbs, gutters and driveways' -on
JACKSON.!VME,
between the boundary of the City of Azusa as the same now•exists
and the northerly line of Paramount Avenue;

The estimated cost of said work is $29,770.89.
Section 2. That all the aforesaid work or improve-
ment shall be constructed at the grades, along the lines,
between the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in
the manner shown on the plans (which include profiles and
detailed drawings) for the said work, designated "Plan
No. 1953-7," consisting of four sheets numbered 1 to 4, and
in accordance with said plans and with the specifications
for said work, which are designated "Specifications No. 1953-7."
Said plans and specifications have heretofore been approved by
the City Council of the City of Azusa and are on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa in the City Hall
in said City of Azusa, and reference is hereby made to said
plans and specifications for the full and detailed description
of said proposed work and for a description of the grades at
which said work is to be done.
Section 3. That in the opinion of this City Council
the said contemplated work is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and this City Council hereby makes the expense
of said work chargeable upon a district, which district this
City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by
the said work and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense
thereof. For a description of said district reference is
hereby made to a plat or map of said district heretofore
approved by this City Council on file in the office of the
said City Clerk and designated "Map of Assessment District
No. 1953-7," which map or plat indicates by a boundary.line
the extent of the territory included in the said proposed dis-
trict and shall govern for all details as to the extent of said
assessment district.

Section 4. That serial bonds bearing interest
at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum shall be issued
to represent each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25)
or over remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date
of recordation of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend
over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the next October 15th following their
date. Said bonds are to be issued pursuant to and as pro-
vided in the Improvement Act of 1911, Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
Section 5. That the said proposed work is to be
done under and proceedings therefor are to be under and pur-
suant to the said Improvement Act of 1911.
Section 6. That notice is hereby given that the
21st day of June, 1954s at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M.,
is the day and hour when, and the Council Chambers of this
City Council in the City Hall in said City of Azusa is the
place where any and all persons having any protest or objec-
tion to said proposed work or to the extent of said assessment
district, or to the proposed grades, may appear before the
City Council of said City of Azusa and show cause why said
proposed work should not be carried out in accordance with
this resolution of intention. Protests or objections must be
in writing and must be delivered to the said City Clerk of
said City of Azusa not later than the hour herein set for
hearing protests or objections.
Section 7. The AZUSA CANYON CITY NEWS, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the said
City of Azusa, is hereby selected as the newspaper in which

this resolution shall be published and, except when other-
wise ordered by this City Council, in which all other publica-
tions in the proceedings pursuant to this resolution of
intention shall be made. The said City Clerk is hereby
directed to certify to the adoption of this resolution and
to cause said resolution to be published in the manner pro-
vided by law.
Section 8. The said City Clerk is hereby directed
to mail notices of the adoption of this resolution as pro-
vided in said Improvement Act of 1911s postage prepaid, to
all persons owning real property which is proposed to be
assessed to pay any part of the cost of said work, whose names
and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll
or as known to the said City Clerk, including property assessed
by the State under Section 14 of Article XIII of the Constitu-
tion at the address thereof shown on the last board roll
transmitted to the County Auditor.
Section 9. The Street Superintendent of the said
City of Azusa is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously
posted along the line of the contemplated work and on all
open streets within the said assessment district notices of
the passage of this resolution of intention in the time, form
and manner provided by law..
