RESOLUTION NO. 3191
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DISCONTINUING
FURTHER PROCEEDINGS UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 3174 OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ADOPTED ON
THE 21st DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1955.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa did, on
or about the 21st day of February, 1955, enact Resolution
No. 3174 entitled "A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE PROCEEDINGS HAVE
BEEN INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED #EASTERLY
ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 51 AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED
ANNFXATION", and
WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly published, setting forth
its contents and fixing the day and hour and place for hearing
for said proposed annexation, and
WHEREAS, it now appears that the premises described in
said Easterly Annexation District No. 5 set forth in said Resolut-
ion No. 3174, does not include all of the territory which the
owners thereof desire to have annexed as evidenced by a letter
from the Azusa Foot -Hill Citrus Company on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City
of Azusa that the territory proposed to be annexed should follow
boundary lines that will logically conform to the future pattern
of land use and which territory is described as follows, to -wit:

as adopted on March 21st, 1955
All that real property situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line
of Cerritos Avenue, 80 feet wide as shown on Map of Subdivision No. 1 of
Lands of Azusa Land & water Co, recorded in Book 16, pages 17 and 18 of
Miscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of said County with
the northerly line of Lot 11 in Block I of said Subdivision No. 1, said
intersection being a point in the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa
as sans existed on February 1, 1955; thence easterly along said northerly
line and continuing easterly along the northerly line of Lot 5 and the
easterly prolongatinn of said northerly line to a point 20 feet easterly
of the easterly line of that certain unnamed street 40 feet wide (known
as Los Angeles Street and being the westerly half of a.street shown on
said map as 80 feet wide) lying along the easterly side of Blocks I,
F and .6 in said Subdivision No. 1; thence northerly in a direct line to a
point defined as being 60.ft easterly measured at right angles to the
westerly line of said street from a point in said westerly line distant
northerly along said westerly line 2,546.00 feet from the center line of
First Street, 80 feet wide, as shown in said Subdivision No. 1; thence
continuing easterly on a line measured at right angles to the westerly
line of said street a distance of 760.00 feet; thence southerly at right
angles from said last mentioned line 740.00 feet; thence easterly, at
right angles to the westerly line of Citrus Avenue, to a point 15.00
feet westerly of said westerly line of Citrus Avenue, 65.00 feet wide
as shown on the map of Tract No. 16384, recorded in Book 536, pages 49
and 50 of Maps in the office of said recorder; thence southerly on a line
parallel to said westerly line of Citrus Avenue to the westerly prolongation
of the northerly line of Lot 15 of said Tract; thence easterly along said

prolongation and continuing easterly, northerly and easterly along the
boundary of said tract to the most easterly northeasterly corner thereof;
thence easterly, southerly and westerly along the north, east and south
lines of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest
quarter of Section 36, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, S. B. B. & M.
to the southwest corner of the said southeast quarter; thence westerly
along the south line of the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of
the southwest quarter of said Section 36 and the westerly prolongation
thereof th the point of intersection with a line parallel to the westerly
line of Citrus Avenue 65 feet wide as shown on map of Tract No. 20498
recorded in Book 525, pages 18 to 21 inclusive of said maps, said parallel
line being 15.00 feet westerly measured at right angles to said--we'st_erly
line of Citrus Avenue; thence southerly and continuing southerly on a
line parallel to and 15.00 feet westerly of the westerly line of Citrus
Avenue 65 feet wide as shown on map of Tract No. 20499 recorded in Book
537, pages 15 to 21 inclusive of said maps to a point distant northerly
thereon 40.00 feet, measured at right angles from the northerly line of
Tract No. 20494 recorded in Book 541, pages 37 to 43 inclusive of said
maps; thence westerly parallel with and distant 40.00 feet northerly
from said northerly line of Tract No. 20494 to the easterly line of
said certain unnamed street 40 feet wide (said last mentioned easterly
line being shown on said map of Subdivision No. 1 as the center line
of an 80 foot street); thence southerly along said last mentioned
easterly line to the center line of First Street 80 feet wide as shown
on said last mentioned map; thence westerly along said last mentioned
center line to the boundary of said City of Azusa; thence noilherly along
said last mentioned boundary to the point of beginning.

WHEREAS, the premises herein described includes all of
the lands described and set forth in said Resolution No. 31743,
and in addition thereto, certain lands as requested by the Azusa
Foot -Hill Citrus Company in the letter hereinbefore referred to,
and
WHEREAS, the Azusa City School District and the Citrus
Union High School District and the Azusa -Foot -Hill Citrus
Company which three designated entities are the owners of a great
majority of the Annexation District both as originally set forth
and as herein contemplated and that, therefore, this proposed
termination of proceedings under said Resolution No. 3174 is not
terminated for the purpose of evading a majority protest but
rather to add additional lands as hereinbefore set forth.
THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does
resolve as follows:
That further proceedings under said Resolution No. 3174
be discontinued and that the City Clerk be instructed to take
steps preliminary to initiating proceedings to annex to the City
of Azusa all that territory hereinbefore described to be known
as(`Easterly Annexation District No. 5 kevised./
The City Engineer shall draw the necessary map conforming
to the above legal description and the City Clerk shall submit sai(
map and legal description to the County Boundary Commission of
Los Angeles County for approval pursuant to Section No. 35002 of
the Government Code,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this
Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify
to the passage and adoption thereof.
