RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INIFNTION OF THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA TO INITIATE, ON ITS OWN
LIOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN
UNIN-IABITED TERRITORY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY T':iE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
LOS ANIGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA:
1. That the Council of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles
County, California, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned,
proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally
do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Azusa, Los Angeles
County, California all of the territory hereinafter described,
as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300
to 35325, inclusive, of the Government, Code of the State of
California, as amended.
2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate
said annexation proceedings are as follows: ThP annexation
of the hereinafter described territory Will contribute to the
orderly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street
layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design, and insure the proper
use of land in conformity with the overall tonin.- plan of the
city.
3. That the territory Which the City Council proposes to
annex is hereby identified as "Easterly Annexation District No.
5" and consists of all that real property situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, descriced as follovrs:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot 11, Block I.
of Subdivision No. 1 of Lands of Azusa Land and 'Vater
Company as per "Yap recorded in Book 16, page 17 of
1:4iscellaneous Records.in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County, said Northwe0st corner
b'ing a point in the easterl2t boundary of the City of
Azusa as same existed on December lot, 1954; thence
easterly on the north lines of Lot 11 and Lot 5 of
91ock I of said Subdivision No. 1; thence southerly
on the east lines of Lot 5 and Lot 6 of said Flock I
to the Southeast corner of Lot 6 of Block I of s 4.d
Subdivision No. 1; thence southerly in a direct line
to the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block F of said
Subdivision No. l; thence southerly on the east line
of said Lot 1 a distance of 18 feet; thence easterly
on a line parallel to the south boundary of Section
35, Township 1 Forth, Range 10 7/est San Bernardino
Base and Meridian, to the intersection with the
..esterly line of Citrus Avenue, 41.5 feet wide as
shol:,n on County Surveyor's "?ap C. S. 8186; thence
northerly on the westerly line of said Citrus A*-Pnue,
as defined hereinbefore, to a point due !lest of the
Torthwest corner of Lot 15 of 7rwct 16384 as recorded
in "'ai) Eook 536, pages 49 and 50 in the Office of the
County Recorcer of Los Anr,eles County; thence due East
to said North',est corner of Lot 15 of Tract 16384;

15, 16 and 17 of said Tract 16384 to the Northeast
corner of Lot 17, Tract 16384; thence northerly

Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the
Southwest Quarter of said Section 36 to the Southwest
Corner of said. Southwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 36; Thence
due West to the intersection with the westerly line of
Citrus Avenue, 41,5 feet wide as shown on County
Surveyors T,tap C. S. 8186; thence southerly on the
westerly line of said Citrus Avenue as defined herein-
before to a point 182 feet northerly of the South line
of Section 35, Township 1 North, Range 10 hest, San
Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence westerly on a line
parallel to the South line of said. Section 35 to the
point of intersection with the easterly line of Los
Angeles Street, 40 feet wide, which easterly line is
shown on the map of Subdivision No. 1 of Lands of Azusa
Land and "later Company as described hereinbefore as the
centerline of an 80 foot street on the easterly boundary
of said Subdivision No. 1; thence southerly on said last
mentioned line to the point of intersection with the
centerline of First Street, 80 feet wide, as shown on
map of said. Subdivision No. 1; thence westerly on the
centerline of said First Street to the intersection
with the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa which
boundary is defined as the East line of Cerritos Ave;
thence northerly on the Last line of Cerritos Avenue as
shown on map of said Subdivision No. 1 to the point of
beginning.
4. That the City Clerk of the said City of Azusa is hereby
directed to file with the Boundary Commission of the County of Los
Angeles, State of Callforniw, this proposal to initiate proceeding
to annex the hereinabove described uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, and to request a report by the Commission as
provided for in Section 35002 of the Government Code.
