RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE
BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND

to the City of Azusa ", AND GIVING NOTICE OF
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA:
1. That, 'pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Temitory Act of 1939, Proceedings have been initiated
by the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex
to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in
the County of Los " eles State of California, hereby designated
as Easterly Annexa 1onD�strict No. I0, to the City of Azusa "

TO THE CITY OF AZUSA

Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 1 of Tract No. 20495,
recorded in Book 556, pages 39 through 44 of Maps in the office
of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence southerly —
in a direct line to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of Tract No.
20494, recorded in Book 541, pages 37 through 43 of Maps in the
said Recorder's office: thence easterly on the northerly line of
said last mentioned Lot 1 and following the boundary of said last
mentioned lot around a curve of twenty-five foot radius concave
to the southwest and going southerly on the easterly line of said
last mentioned lot to the southeast corner of said last mentioned
Lot 1; thence easterly in a direct line to a point in the westerly
line of Lot 63 of Tract No. 17939, recorded in Book 551, pages 14
through 16 of Maps in said Recorder's office, said point being
distant 20.00 feet southerly, measured on said last mentioned
lot line, from the northwest corner of said Lot 63; thence southerly
on a line parallel with the center line of Citrus Avenue 80 feet
wide as shown on map of said Trac No. 17939, to the intersection
with an alley twelve feet wide, which alley is along the southerly
boundary of said last mentioned tract as shown on said last mention-
ed map, and continuing southerly parallel with the centerline of
Citrus Avenue as shown on map of Tract No. 16435, recorded in Book
561, pages 16 and 17 of Maps in said Recorder's office, to the
so8thwesterly corner of Lot 89 of said Tract No. 16435; thence N
89 55' 34" E distant 168.72 feet, more or less, to the northwest
corner of Lot 90 of said Tract No. 16435; thence southerly on the
westerly lines of Lots 90 and 97 of said last mentioned Tract to
the southwesterly corner of said last mentioned Lot 97; thence S
0000'40"W a distance of 42.01 feet, more or less, to a point which
is the southeasterly corner of a parcel labeled "Not a part of this
subdivision'' on said map of Tract No. 16435; thence easterly on a
line parallel to the centerline of Gladstone Street, a street of
variable width, as shown on said last mentioned map to the inter-
section with the centerline of Galanto Avenue, 60 feet wide, as
shown on said last mentioned Map; thence northerly along the center-
line of said Galanto Avenue as shown on maps of said Tracts No.
16435 and No. 17939 to the point of intersection with the southerly
line of Base Line Road, 80 feet wide, as shown on said map of
Tract No. 17939; thence westerly on the southerly line of said Base
Line Road to a point in the northerly line of Lot 61 of said
Tract No. 17939, which point is the beginning of a curve of radius
25.00 feet concave to the southeast, and which point is 97.36 feet,
more or less, westerly of the northeast corner of said Lot 61,
measured along said last mentioned northerly lot line; thence
northerly in a direct line to the most southerly point of Lot 179
of Tract No. 20499, recorded in Book 537, pages 15 through 21 of
Maps in said Recorder's office; thence following the boundary of
said Lot 179, along a curve of 25 feet radius concave to the
northeast and northerly on the westerly line of said Lot 179 to
the northwesterly corner of said Lot 179; thence westerly in a
direct line to the most northerly point of Lot 1 of said Tract
No. 20495; thence southerly and westerly along the boundary of
the City of Azusa as same existed on September 2, 1955 to the point
of beginning.

2, That the Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex
said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following
reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and
its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the
orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory
Proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to. the
proper and orderly layout, design and construction of streets,
gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage
facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed
to be annexed; and will provide gnd facilitate proper overall
planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said
City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive
to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County,
Califgrn£a, did in session duly assembled on ,. ac 1-4

4. That )Nh, , 19 he , at the hour of
1')'h•in a Counci Cam e s of the city Hall in the City
Azusa, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the
time and place when and where any person owning real property
within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed
to be annexed to the City of Azusa, and having any objections to
the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the
City of Azusa and show cause why such uninhabited territory should
not be so annexed to said City of Azusa. Such protest must be in
writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name
or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the
description and area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published
at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in Azusa Herald
and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in
said City of Azusa, the city to which it is proposed to annex
the aforesaid territory, and also in Glendora Press, a newspaper da
of general circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but u
in the County of Irs Angeles, California, the county in which is low
the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said
publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the
date set for hearing.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to

available on the date the above salid proceedings were inil:iated,
at the addre^sEs shown on said assessment roll or known ;;o the
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and ad ress and
the designation of the lands in which he %as an interest, either
legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notate to be given not
less than twenty 1'20) days before the first public hearing on
the proposed annexation.
7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to
be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be
given not mess than twenty (20) days before the first public
hearing on the proposed annexation.
8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be
annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or
leased by a county fire protection district, the said Clerk is
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to

be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to
be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public
hearing upon such proposed annexation.
9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto,
in the manner required by law.
