R LUTION N0. 3264
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
RESPECTFULLY URGING THE ADVISORY HOSPITAL
COUNCIL TO TAKE FAVORABLE ACTION ON THE PEND-
ING APPLICATION OF SANTA TERESITA HOSPITAL
FOR FINANCIAL AID AS A GENERAL HOSPITAL.
WHEREAS there is a serious shortage of hospital beds in the
Azusa -Monrovia area, and
WHEREAS such shortage constitutes a serious threat to the
health and welfare of the people of this community, and
WHEREAS SANTA TERESITA HOSPITAL plans the operation of a
general hospital, with a proposed increase in hospital beds and
facilities which will be available to the people of this community,

WHEREAS this Council has been informed that Santa Teresita
Hospital has pending before the Advisory Hospital Council of the
State of California an application under the Burton -Hill Act for
governmental assistance in making necessary additions and improve-
ments to it's general hospital, and
WHEREAS the granting of such application and the making of such
additional improvements will be a substantial aid in lessening the
serious need for additional hospital beds in this area,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Azusa,
in the public interest, respectfully urges the Advisory Hospital
Council to take favorable action on the pending application of
Santa Teresita Hospital for financial aid as a general hospital.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this Resolut
and the City Clerk shall attest the same and certify to the passage
and adoption thereof.
