That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as I' 6` and described asfollows: I l):BCRIPION OF PROPOSED "L'ASTERLY ANNLXATION DISTRICT NO. 5 (Revised)" to the CITY OF AZUSA (Revised) All that real property situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as followss Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of Cerritos Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on Map of Subdivision No. 1 of lands of Azusa Land & Water Co, recorded in Book 16, pages 17 and 18 of 1-Uscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of said County, with the northerly line of Lot 11 in Block I of said Subdivision No. 1, said intersection being a point in the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on February 1, 1955; thence easterly along said northerly line and contin- uing easterly along the northerly line of Lot 5 in said block and the easterly prolongation thereof to a point distant easterly thereon 20 feet measured at right angles from the easterly line of Rockvale Avenue 40 feet wide (being the westerly half of a formerly unnamed street 80 feet wide) shown on said map as lying along the easterly side of Blocks I, F and E in said Subdivision No. 1; thence northerly in a direct line to a point defined as being 60 feet easterly measured at right angles to the westerly line of said Rockvale Avenue, from a point in said westerly line distant northerly thereon 2546.28 feet from the center line of First Street, shown on said map as 80 feet wide; thence easterly along a line at right angles to the westerly line of said Rockvale Avenue 760.00 feet; thence southerly along a line at right angles to said last mentioned line 740.00 feet; thence easterly along a line at right angles to the westerly line of Citrus Avenue 65 feet wide as shown on map of Tract No. 16384 recorded in Book 536, pages 49 and 50 of Maps in the Office of --aid recorder, to a point distant westerly thereon 15 feet from said last mentioned westerly line; thence southerly along a line parallel with said westerly line of Citrus Avenue to the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 15 of said tract; thence easterly along said last mentioned prolongation and continuing easterly, northerly and east- erly along the boundary of said tract to the most easterly northeasterly corner thereof; thence easterly, southerly and westerly along the north,, east and south lines of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 36, Township 1 North, Range 10 West, S.B.B. & M., to the southwest corner of said southeast quarter; thence westerly along the south line of the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of said Section 36 and the westerly prolongation thereof to the point of intersection with a line parallel with and 15.00 feet westerly measured at right angles from the westerly line of Citrus Avenue 65 feet wide as shorn on map of Tract No. 20498 recorded in Book 525, pages 16 to 21 inclusive, of said Maps: thence sou,!.erly along said last mentioned parallel line and continuing south- erly along a line parallel with and 15.00 feet westerly measured at right angles from the westerly line of Citrus Avenue 65 feet wide as shown on map of Tract No. 20499 recorded in Book 537, pages 15 to 21 inclusive, of said Maps to a point distant northerly thereon 40.00 feet measured at right angles from the most northerly line of Tract No. 20494 as shown on map recorded in Book 541, pages 37 to 43 inclusive, of said Maps; thence westerly along a line that is parallel with and distant 40.00 feet northerly measured at right angles from said most northerly line of Tract No. 20494 to the easterly line of said Rockvale Avenue (said last mentioned easterly line being shown on said map of Sub- division No. 1 as the center line of an 80 foot street); thence south- erly along said last mentioned easterly line to the center line of First Street shown on said last mentioned map as 80 feet wide; thence westerly along said last mentioned center line to the boundary of said City of Azusa; thence northerly along said last mentioned boundary to the point of beginning, Hes. That the Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide gnd facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angele C unt�, California, did in session duly assembled on 2 9 19 approve the roposed annexation boundar ess b: sa as above deser ed, an as su miteCL to said Comm'ss�y the Council of the City of Azusa. at-, 19 4 6 , at the hour of n ei Cham ers of the City Hall in the City TF -16a,' ounty of Los Co.Zgeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Azusa and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Azusa. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Azusa, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in Glendora Press, a newspaper �J of general circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but a� in the'County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which islo" the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 8, In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to Res. No. 3212 Page 3 be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation'. 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons ..s may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner req{xired by lacy.
