HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 71RESOLUTION NO. 71 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALLING UPON THE PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE FOR THE AZUSA CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT; TO EXPAND ITS MEMBERSHIP TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL MEMBERS WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health & Safety Code, Section 33000 et seq.), the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa has selected the boundaries and adopted a Preliminary Plan for Amendment No. 2 to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project.adding land to the existing Project area; and WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law requires that the Redevelopment Agency call upon the Project Area Committee to expand its membership whenever a proposed amendment to the redevelopment plan would expand the Project area; NOW, THEREFORE, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Redevelopment Agency hereby calls upon the Project Area Committee ("PAC") for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project area to hold a public meeting to expand its membership to include additional members to represent the areas proposed to be added to the Project area, and to submit such expansion of membership to the City Council of the City of Azusa, within 30 days of receipt by the PAC of the Agency's request. SECTION 2. The Executive Director of the Agency is directed to inform the PAC of the Agency's request and if requested to do so by the PAC, shall give notice of the meeting by mailing or delivering a copy of a Notice of Public Meeting for Expansion of the Project Area Committee for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project to each residence, place of business and existing community organization within the area to be added to the Project area, and shall cause a notice of such meeting to be published in the Azusa Herald, a newspaper of general circulation. SECTION 3. The PAC, as expanded, shall be comprised of not less than 10 nor more than 25 members, and shall include residential owner occupants, residential tenants, businessmen, and members of existing community organizations within the Project area. Only persons who are in one or more of*the above listed categories are eligible to participate in the selection of the PAC members. SECTION 4. After the new members of the PAC are selected, the members of the expanded PAC shall select their own Chairman, Vice Chairman and other officers. The members shall serve without compensation. SECTION 5. The Chairman of the PAC shall attend the City Council meeting next following the organization of the expanded PAC, and present a list of members and officers of the PAC together with such other information as is necessary to permit the City Council to conclude that a representative PAC has been formed and is entitled to City Council approval.
