HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 1, 1925 - CCCITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the.above time and place. N June 1st, 1925 7:30 T..M. Present at roll call: Trustees: Moon, Beier, Chenoweth, Peirce, Case, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: None. A letter was read from J. E. Rock- hold, County Surveyor relative to monuments and bench marks and on motion the same was placed on file. A letter was read from Maurice Jones relative to water standing in the gutter on East Center Street between Cerritos and Pasadena Avenues and it was moved that the matter be re- ferred to J. E. Lee, Street Superin- tendent with power to act. Carried by the following.vote, to -wit: Ayes:..Trustees: Moon, Meier, Chenoweth, Pierce, C ase. Noes: None. Absent: None. On motion duly carried J. E. Daugherty was granted two weeks vacation commenc- ing June 15th, 1925. A letter was received from Idr. Tunison and on motion the same was referred to the City Attorney to report at next meeting. +7The following Ordinance_was;prssented: A.N:ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, REGULATING THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND PRO- VIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION 1^HEitEOF . The Ordinance was read. It was moved that the Ordinance be de- clared read for the second time and taken up for its third reading and final passage. - The Ordinance was read. The matter of covering of tar in front of MATTER OF COVERING TAR the First.National Bank was referred to IN FRONT OF FIRST the Public Works Committee. NATIONAL BANK REFERRED TO PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE. A communication was received from F. S. Hayden relative'to slot machines and on motion the matter was referred to the District Attorney. On motion duly carried W. F. Pierce and Irene B. Barnes were each granted one weeks vacation commencing June 8, 1925. COMMUNICATION FROM F. S. HAYDEN,REFERRED TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY. W. F. BARITES GRANTED VACATIONS. 10 The matter of hearing of pro- tests on the improvement of Ninth Street was called up by the Chairman of the Board but no one appeared to protest and the City Clerk announced he had caused the notices of hear- ing to be posted as required by law and that no written pro- tests had been received. HEARING OF PROTESTS ON THE IMPROVEIMPT OF NINTH STREET. MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 1st, 1925 The matter of the purchasing of an addressograph was referred to the City Clerk to report at nest meeting. It was moved that a donation of $100.00 from the advertising fund be made to the Azusa Clinic. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees: Moon, Meier, Cheno- weth, Peirce, Case. Noes: None. Absent: None. It was moved that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
