Present at roll call: Trustees: Pierce, Moon, Meier,Chenoweth, Case and City Clerk. Absent: City Attorney. The following Notice of Special Meeting was read: June 4, 1925 I hereby call a Special Meet- ing of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa to meet in the Council Chamber on Thurs- day, the 4th day of June, 1925 at 11:00 A. 11. of said day. DURRELL City Clerk. I hereby certify that I re- ceived the attached Notice of Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa at 9:00 o'clock A. M., on Thursday, the 4th day of June, 1925, and that I served the same on the hereinafter named persons, who are members of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa at the time set' after their respective names by personally delivering to and leaving with said persons a true copy of the attached Notice of Special Meeting. CASE member of the Board of Trustees READ• was read. 15 1.6 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD June 4th, 1925 11:00 A. M. It was moved by Trustee Pierce, seconded by Trustee RESIGNATION ACCEPTED. Meier that the resignation be accepted. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Meier, seconded by Trustee Moon that Trustee Pierce be appointed Chairman, Pro -Tem. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Moon, seconded by Trustee Meier that the City Clerk be authorized to write a letter bf appreciation to Mr. Case for his past ser- vices and to cause the same to be published -in the Pomo- tropic and a copy spread on these minutes. Motion carried. In compliance with the abve request the City Clerk pre- pared the following letter: June 4th, 1925. Mr. Luther Case, Azusa, California. Dear Sir: . The Board of Trustees of this city direct me to say to you that your resignation as a member of the Board of Trustees of this city has been received with the utmost regret. In accepting your resign- ation the remaining members wish to assure you that they fully realize and appreciate the great amount of time and physical energy you have expended for the bene- fit of this city during the many years you have served upon its Board of Trustees, the greater portion of which being in the cap- acity of presiding officer, and realizing as they do, the sacri- fice to your business and home interests by reason of such con- tinued service, they feel that they cannot with justice to you refuse your request to be relieved from further service. The remaining members will always remember your wise counsel and steading hand and will recall with pleasure in the years to come their harmonious and pleas- ant association with you in the service of the City of Azusa.
