HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 137RESOLUTION NO. 137 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RECOM1,1ENDING SELECTION OF A REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA AND DIRECTING THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO FORMULATE A PRE- LIMINARY PLAN FOR SAID PROJECT AREA. WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa has adopted Resolution No.136 commencing proceedings to detach the real property shown on Exhibit A and described in Exhibit B attached hereto from the Amendment No. II to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project Area; and WHEREAS, the purpose of proposed Amendment No. IV to the Azusa Central Business District Project will be to exclude property which prevents full realization of Redevelopment Agency goals for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project Area; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa desires to reattach said property into the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project Area as Amendment No. V to the Redevelopment Plan: and [WHEREAS, said property is already within an adopted survey area as adopted by the City Council on March 19, 1979 by Resolution No. 6766; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33322 of the California Community Redevelopment Law, the Redevelopment Agency hereby requests the Planning Commission to select a project area comprised of all or part of the survey area as shown in Exhibit A and described in Exhibit B; and WHEREAS, the survey area requires study to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area are feasible pursuant to California Community Redevelopment Law; and NOW, THEREFORE, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of. Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa pre- sumes that the real property shown in Exhibit A and legally described in Exhibit B will be formally detached from the Amendment No. II to the Azusa Central Business District Rede- velopment Project Area. Said detachment is being concurrently processed as Amendment No. IV to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Plan. SECTION 2. The Redevelopment Agency further presumes that said Amendment No. IV will be approved prior to approval for Amend- ment No. V to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Plan Amendment No. V to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Plan will reattach said property to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project. SECTION 3. The area shown in Exhibit A and legally described in Exhibit B is hereby recommended to be selected by the Planning Commission as Amendment No. V to the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project. 0 f SECTION 4. The Planning Commission of the City of Azusa is hereby directed to formulate a Preliminary Plan in accordance with Section 33324 of the California Community Redevelopment Law. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of May, 1984. Amendment No. 5 SOUT 8 WESTY P�/N a CX t11,3 ?' 963.0 6gBFC�N xrn o 24 N Op o\ t Cr oC 60 ZO Z z t 1 Q,. 43 wQY3 L RP[ V cY R OQII-O FOOTHILL BLVD. 25 Project Area Map IExhibit A EXHIBIT B 6 The following is a legal description of the former Miller Brewery Property in the City of Azusa, California: That portion of Lot 42, 54 and 55 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and water Company in the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 43, Page 94 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of said County described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of the intersection of the west- erly right-of-way line of Vernon Avenue (65 feet wide) and the northerly right-of-way line of 8th Street (30 feet wide); thence westerly along the northerly right-of-way line of 8th Street 963 feet more or less to a point, said point being the intersection of the northerly right-of-way line of 8th Street and the easterly right-of-way line of Georgia Place (30 feet wide); thence northerly along said easterly right-of-way line of Georgia Place 35.64 feet to the southerly lot line of Lot 55 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water Company; thence westerly 1246.29 feet more or less along the southerly lot lines of Lots 42 and 55 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water Company, to a point, said point being on the easterly right-of-way line of Loren Avenue (60 feet wide); thence northerly along said easterly right-of-way line of Loren Avenue 60 feet; thence easterly 263.40 feet along a line parallel to and 60 feet from the northerly line of Lot 2 of Tract No. 14072 in the City of Azusa, as shown on a map recorded in Book 282, Pages 20-21 of Maps in the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence due north 1000 feet more or less to a point, said point being on the southerly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company right-of-way (100 feet wide); thence southeasterly along said southerly right-of-way line to its intersection with the westerly right-of-way line of Vernon Avenue (65 feet wide); thence southerly along said westerly right-of-way line through all its various courses to the Point of Beginning.
